our defense is still crap and can't block a cross or mark anyone in the box. Look at what happened with Joel at the weekend, he didn't do much wrong and we still shipped three goals (although deflections happen). Take their last goal, midfield gives De brunye all the time in the world to line up a cross and stones lets Aguero run unmarked right in front of him. What was Joel supposed to do about that? It was just poor defending

Can't compare, 1 goal that shouldnt of been and 1because of sheer luck

It'll be interesting to what Martinez does, now, and unless Robles makes mistakes at Carlisle he'll have no reason to drop him.

I know he's the cup goalie but RM needs to use the rest of the season to, amongst other things, plan his goalkeeping needs and options
for next season. I don't think either Howard or Robles will make any real difference to what happens in the rest of this season. We wont
make top four and we won't go down.

We know everything we need to about Tim, but we need to find out more about Joel and there's only one way to find out.

Martinez sees Robles in training every day, he has watched him in enough games to have made up his mind about him. Looks like Martinez doesn't rate him.

or maybe we have glaring defensive weakness that leave our keepers out to dry regardless of who it is. Said before I'd be fine with Robles playing but I'd hope our defense would step it up and actually prevent crosses,free headers, etc instead of expecting either keeper to do everything

Howard costs us 8/10 games he's involved in, and Robles doesn't. That's the difference

I'm certainly not defending him as a footballer now ( if that's what you call goalies ) but this fella has been in goal for ten years at our club and has played over 400 games and has been a good servant who has more good than bad years! Forget the last 2 years that Martinez has played him even though he's finished and remember him for what he was! You've got lads defending stones as though he was a colossus who can do no wrong despite him playing for a move, shipping goals and handing in transfer requests at the first opportunity !!! Howard is finished , anyone can see that apart from Martinez so we've ended up with him being the focus of all that's wrong with Everton at the moment which in not fair on he fella no matter how much of a nobhead he is! Honestly I though we had more class than this!

Remember him for what he was. An average keeper at his peak (which was more or less 7 years ago) and now a useless melt who can't do the basics of goalkeeping and slags fans off in the press. Ok then

If that's the case it seems Martinez's critics have a point. Robles hasn't done much wrong in his limited match time and, after all, Martinez bought him virtually twice.

That's Howard's fault is it? No thought not, lay off him for a bit and that goes for everyone else because no matter how bad the lad is Martinez picks him and he wears a Royal blue shirt !! We're in the middle of [Poor language removed] street and we need to pull together for once!!

You can,t pull together with a clown of a keeper, no I will not lay off him untill he is benched!

Yes easy to judge Robles on a handful of games in three seasons when bumbling Tim has given leads away defeats into draws etc etc!
I will judge Robles when he has a run of ten games or so on the bounce!

In everyone else's head, yes. But this is Martinez who values experience over ability.

We have one average keeper and one absolute joke who's masquerading as a keeper.
