Tim Howard

This is not how it should be. Howard has more than played his part for Everton but the reticence of Martinez to give him some time on the bench is ruining our results and trashing Tims reputation.......come on Bobby get a bleeding grip.........

Back pass was average, but nowhere near terminal. Howard could have cleared it comfortably with time to spare.

Second goal was a tricky deflection, but good luck saving anything on your knees.
Yes thats a good point in the 2nd half Britton?or Routledge of Swansea burst through on our right hand side and had a cross shot Howard had already decided to go on his backside he saved it and the commentator stated great save - if Britton or Routledge had waited a split second a little chip and it was 3-1, its a trait in that super game he had in the world cup in which he saved many many shots MOTM etc but pundit like him or loath him Alan Shearer pointed out Tim goes down to ground far to early and if he was playing he would simply wait those seconds to loft the ball over him!
since that coverage have teams sussed him out - it's not a great save imo if you fall down early and virtually sit on the ball!
The way he is playing now though I take any save he makes his main problem is his positioning his unsettling our defence!

What is Martinez playing at in his continued selection of this guy? His own fans are jeering him for FFS, you'd think that they would have both got the picture by now. If you want the atmosphere to improve, stop bloody selecting sub-standard goalkeepers that are being jeered by your own fans, as that's clearly going to have a negative impact on everyone, the fans, Howard himself, the other players and Everton!

He's petrified of Howard mate. Howard has self-styled himself as this Everton icon because he's been here ages, and his ego and influence in the dressing room means he'd kick up so much of a stink if he was dropped that it'd make Martinez's job twice as hard. Like I said a few pages back, he's the type that would turn the dressing room against the manager to get his own way, much like Gerrard did with Hodgson. As well as an utterly piss poor goalkeeper he's a poisonous individual that we need shut of ASAP

+1. I saw little wrong with the back pass.
The backpass was under hit -but Tim seen Stones had made the overplaying error, he should have run off his line and shouted give it to me or boot it out - or if he wanted to guard his goal just have guarded his near post the was no other swansea player in the box to cross to and the ball was a few feet away from the goal line so if the Swansea player had got there it was virtually impossible to do anything with the ball so what does Tim do step back one pace and kick both of his legs up in the air , and then claim it was not a pen it's so sad to see!
Robles needs to play regular as Tim is a charlatan of a Keeper who should have been dropped 12 months ago!

Doesn't seem like the simpler solution is for your own fans to stop jeering your players?

This is how I feel about it.

Martinez has stuck with him for waaaaayyyy too long. If he fails to act after that total embarrassment yesterday, then he's piss weak and not the right man for the job.

We've said this about 10 times this season though. He's never once responded to Howard howlers with anything other than praise for Tim's "experience"

If he continues to pick him, then surely it's nothing other than stubbornness?

The reaction of the crowd alone towards him means he should remove him from the firing line.

But if he can genuinely sit there today, watch the re-run of that debacle yesterday, on top of the umpteen other howlers that we've witnessed this season, and still think he's worthy of the shirt, then he doesn't deserve to be manager of a club like Everton.
