Tim Howard

I agree - as I've said, it's mainly Stones' error, but that error comes as a result of Howard offering no option after Stones' initial error of not getting it clear.
Understand what you're saying. Just think that it should have never even been a situation, and anyone defending Stones in this has a clear agenda either for him or against Howard.

Funny thing is that pea roller in the second half that he picked up will count as a 'save' so all the Americans will be on here posting more save stats soon.

Anyway, Howard. Yeah he's an odious horrible creature that should be clouted as far away from the club as is humanly possible. Fabianski tought him how to be a goalkeeper today, claiming everything and dominating his area. But yeah, experience and know-how and all that

Can we agree on 80-20 fault on Stones-Howard on the first? I think that's reasonable.

Can't blame him for missing the penalty, no one was stopping that.

Maybe 10% to Howard on the second, it's hard to expect much more on a deflection.

And let's keep up with the encouraging clapping when he catches the ball. He needs to know we're behind him for his confidence.

It's true though. Your saying its 100% Howard's fault well that is 100% wrong. Otherwise your saying that's how a supposedly £40 million defender should defend like.
Stones dealt with the problem he had by passing it back to his keeper which is a perfectly acceptable thing to do. It became a problem when Howard completely messed up his end of things. Even if the pass was under hit (which it wasn't) should a keeper:
A) Foul the striker
B) Pull out of the tackle so that the ball goes harmlessly out for a goal kick
???

How you don't see Howard being at fault is beyond me.
