Tim Howard

Ever thought it's because they know we have a dodgy keeper. All they need to do is hit the target. How many games has Howard actually won for us in the last year with a great display? I can't recall any. The defence has been bad too, don't get me wrong, but he really is a dreadful dreadful keeper. Terrible distribution, terrible judge of when to come off his line for high balls, crosses and one on ones (often resulting in pens or red cards), can't dive to his right. Do you not remember how good our goalies used to be. If we had someone like De Gare we'd be challenging for the title. Just a decent keeper would have us top 6.

Haha yeah if we had De Gea we'd be brilliant like Utd are..

poor from everyone, Tim included. Tim could've came for it, Barkley and Naismith were positioned right there and lost the man/missed timed their jump (Ross). All three culpable which has been my point most of the season in this thread. Tim's not playing great but he hasn't been undermining top class defensive displays.

I played at centre half if your goal keeper is crap at commanding his box he got told, but Super Tim is well in with RM as he would not get a game!

Maybe later, my hands are currently occupied inside your mother

don't you at least admit the RS player shouldn't have been unmarked in the 6 yard box? That's my main issue, Howards hasn't been great but neither has our marking. we're giving up the 2nd most shots in the league
Thats fair comment mate and leaving barkley in the 6 yard box can be blamed on martinez but that has to be the keepers ball every time. Im not one for slating our players but bobby's refusal to drop howard is baffling and a bit worrying. It's sad to see a player's good reputation being permanently damaged like this

Usually that criticism is placed on him when the goal is off a corner/set piece, and he should have anticipated/reacted to the cross better, especially when it lands in his 6 yard box and he's rooted to the spot.

For the first Naismith goal, Galloway plays the ball in from inside the box with pace.

It's hardly the same.

Not disagreeing with you, but like I said some on here tried to blame Howard for the Matic goal which was miles better than Naismith's second.

Anyway...I have no beef with you. I just get sick of the OTT criticism...so I went a little OTT myself. :)

Not everyone is going to be Southall. I agree that we need a new keeper in the summer as well. Just that Howard isn't the sole reason we're 10th, also most of goals allowed/shots allowed have been headers in our 18. It's not as if most of the goals/shots are teams just letting fly from 25 yards out because they assume tims crap. Bouremouth's first was from outside the area tbf but our defenders gave him all the time in the world to line it up so they're just as much at fault as Howard is. That's all im getting at, you defend as a unit. People are happy to discuss our overall terrible defense in the Martinez thread, saying his philosophy is crap and he can't organize a defense..yet in here Howard's the only thing holding us back.

Use your eyes, so many times he just closes his eyes and starjumps
What are the other keepers doing, then?

I guess the goals they concede don't count as much because they look more dignified when they fail to claim a cross and their eyes are still open to watch the ball go past them.
