Tim Howard

Not Howards biggest fan but I wouldn't blame him for that goal last night, he had that big galoot Wickham pinning him to his line he had no chance to come for the ball, and before anyone says he should have gone through him, you try moving someone who is about 6'3" and weighting about 16 stone who doesn't want to be moved. On a slightly different point did I see Howard make a gesture towards the ST end, sorry if it's been mentioned but not read all the thread.
Its his job to move the big Gallot and position himself best to make a save not let the ball fly in down the centre of his goal! Fuming I was as I just knew its a corner and TH would bottle it!

Our back up Keeper may or should get a run so if he plays badly we know Howard is the best option he has looked good in the League cup this season! MOTM v Norwich!

I'd rather we just went with Robles at this point myself, fully expect Howard to cost us at a crucial moment if he plays the full season

The fact is the woodwork did get in the way and Howard did make those saves, that's why he saved us from getting best.
Or he cost us a win Doug there two ways of looking at it Too many draws or enough saves or even attempted saves from that corner its another corner he should with his experience by organising the obvious candidates from the opposition who are going to score the ball was headed straight down the middle and he does not even dive - he came out, then backpedaled and stuck one arm out Pathetic Keeping!
Ok if he had dived and the power of the header had beat fair dos but he put his hand out as if he was catching the bus!
Its again another corner goal from a cross Teams must love crossing the ball into the box V him as he unsettles our defence as he is a whimp!

What we need to do mate is finish as high up as we can do this season, win a cup, keep the young talent together and qualify for Europe, add a quality left sided player and then in the summer go all out for Butland - who hopefully has just finished mid table with Stoke
I do agree, but I do wonder if Butland has already turned us down once when he went to Stoke. I get the impression when he went to Stoke it was because he didn't want to move too far away from Birmingham or wherever it is that he lives because he WILL have had better offers from other clubs (I know it's not a million miles but some people are funny like that)

Butland now is a pipedream a future England keeper we could have had him for 3 million thanks to Mr Moyes!

Maybe he is just an intelligent bloke mate

Option 1 to sign for Moyes - who is known to not really give youth a chance and certainly not at the back, option 2 sign for Hughes who lays out his career path into the first team clearly and the model he is trying to build with Stoke

Using that logic he will look for the next move up the career path and right now the rest of the teams have quality keepers starting for them
Lloris for Spurs, De Gea for United, Cech for Arsenal, Courtouis for Chelsea and Hart for City. It's only really Liverpool that are in the market and with Germany having a few decent yung keepers you have to figure Klopp may go that way instead.

But given the option of knowing he will come here as undisputed number 1 under Martinez or staying with Stoke, then think he would come

So you're saying players should be absolved of any criticism, even when it's deserved?

Noted
no, probably just that players should be absolved of major criticism, when it's not deserved.

He's not been terrible EVERY time he's been criticised. People are a bit too quick to ignore the facts before they weigh in with the comedy over reactions.

Mate he will move from Stoke in the not too distant future to boost his international chances and to play in Europe, it's down to us to give him an option to do that as right now there wouldnt be many other top 6-7 teams that could offer him the starting spot

He costing us points though any goalkeeper one mistake, and they are reviewed, and when we were so unlucky last night it hurts even more, if we had won 3 or 4 - 1 as it may have been I would still be worrying its a goal again conceded from a corner with tim letting the header in straight down the middle of his goal!
