Think Robles has just cemented Howard's number one status for the rest of the season to be honest.

Even in such a one sided game he managed to put fear into the two centre backs and provide encouragement to the championship forwards.

Go to Specsavers Doug , and don't stop at Go or pick £200 up - Robles had a fine game with a weaker team in front of him v a side with a great home record notice when his gloves get the ball Doug it stays in them - also what a commanding punch into touch out of danger- his ball to Barkley was magnificent were you watching the City game or something?:D
I suppose in the last round all his saves were lucky ones too Doug - the only reason Tim plays in the prem that is it may be written in his contract, and RM hands are tied or something more sinister?

So how do we measure what's relevant then. It's all arbitrary. Two years ago the same statistics that sucked last year were great including saving 3 of 5 penalties. His numbers this year are back up again, but the same people that use last years against him refuse to recognize the uptick. Stats only tell part of the story, but they're used so much for framing one's argument when it's convenient and ignored when they're not.

This isn't about stats. I understand football reasonably well and it's patently obvious that Howard is now a very poor keeper. That's all there is to it. The fact in person he also comes across very poorly just adds to it - but down the years there have been a number of Everton players I've not liked as people but have supported them as players.

For Howard it's neither. He's the weak link in an otherwise inspiring line-up. The sooner he is shipped back the better!
