Just watched MOTD 2 - TH I thought he got his positioning wrong on the first goal - I was wrong he dives away from the shot on the near post- yet he made other harder saves? The 2nd goal he does not come out fast enough, and can't be bothered to raise his hands as it just goes over his head?
Disappointing after all those saves, hope he can concentrate more as we cannot afford to battle hard a superior team, their was also one MaCarthy who had a very bad game, and gave the ball away for their break away first goal who had the worst game ever for us - so great saves and mistakes v I think V the champions elect!

Yep Tim was having a really good game and I'm not just talking about the saves. The goal though is just a basic simple mistake, the type you coach out of a 6 year old kid yet the amount of times we say "Howards been beaten again at his near post" is truly shocking.

The 2nd goal I'm not that arsed about, in fact I would blame McCarthy more but the damage was already done tbh

The second was a good save, but the first was routine, the third was super slow and the last one smacks him in the face!

Yes Doug I agree TH was far from the worst player on the pitch , but it's the old adage any Keeper can not afford to make mistakes as it ends up in a goal, and V a team like City our only hope today was a 0-0 or sneak a winner, as they were a complete team all around, not yet to concede a goal too!

Joe we've probably got at most £15m left to spend before the window closes. Would you rather have it spent on a playmaker? midfield general? centre back or goalkeeper?

I rather TH concentrates for 90 mins Doug our transfer kitty is X amount not vast , and as you say not the money to purchase another Keeper, I feel we will fetch players in , but I never mentioned a Keeper, as I know RM is happy with TH , and Robles at the moment, DM stood by TH when Butland was going cheap, lack of foresight etc!

Pretty sure we tried for Butland Joe can't remember though why it never came off, but Moyes tried. Same with Hart..

I suppose Howard was at fault for the countless times we were torn to shreds and allowed City to walk around at will.

As for Howard today, lets teams have the amount of chances City had today and eventually one goes in, dosen't matter who is in goal, keep knocking on the door and at some point ones going in the onion bag, time and time again we let City do what they want, 9 shots on Target against our 1?

Doesn't do the basics well enough imho

Positioning (lets him down for long range shots too - straying off his line)
Claiming crosses

Pulls off some good saves which kinda masks the other stuff.

You just don't get beaten from this angle. No excuses. No matter how the rest of the team plays, this sort of basic error costs you 2 points.
