people were crowing about him in the world cup. He didnt do much wrong v arsenal, WBA and Lezter. I'm not saying he's great clearly he was woeful v palace but he has been so exposed by the defence and midfield. We could have conceded 10 against wolfsburg. Saturday is going to be a mare.

thought he should have done better with leicester's second tbh. either got his barings all wrong or he decided to jump away and under the ball for some odd reason.
 
Defence and goalkeeper I think are more important than any other position as regards getting a run in the side. I know Joel hasnt exactly threatened Howard for his place with his performances so far, but then they've been the odd game once every few months. He earned his place at Wigan because he was their Cup keeper, then by the time they got to the semi, he was left out for Al Habsi because he was playing in the League and doing well. Made a couple of crucial saves in the final too before Wigan won it.

I think Howard was only played last night because of those cock ups on Sunday and given a chance to redeem himself and get his confidence back before the Derby. He failed. He made one or two routine saves, and did very little to cover himself in glory on the 3 goals. Well in everybody, now confidence is even lower!

He is not commanding enough and goes down far too early mate.
For some reason his concentration levels have gone to pot.
Its just lucky for him we have nobody to push him as robles is awful

I thought he could have stopped at least one, if not both, of Arsenal's goals.
 
Howard is an enigma. In there is a high level goalkeeper, and last season he shown that all season. Not world class but reliable and someone the back 4 trust to make the saves.

But when he has a bad game he really has a bad game and that part of his game has never left. I wonder if a better keeper coach would have made a difference to him over the years?


I'm a firm believer of backing your number one (unless it's richard wright)
