Tim Howard

TH - His biggest mistake for me was away at UNT - He was at fault for their 2nd winning goal when he ran out to clear instead of thumping into row Z - He kicked it down the line, and hence their easy build up for their winning goal.
We deserved at least a draw that day, and his experience should have known better than to do such an idiotic thing!

Robles is growing in confidence it would be wrong to play him v Chelsea , and drop him at home v Leicester imo!

Howard isn't a better goalie though that's the thing.

It's clear Martinez believes this as well. Robles is benefitting from people's low expectations before he came in and because he's not been as bad as the vast majority feared he's now being deemed some sort of success. But considering his comments before the injury, about bring in a young keeper to challenge Howard, and given the fact that Robles hadn't featured in any cup games besides a dead rubber and also taking into account Howards poor form and Martinez refusal to try Robles before it was forced on him it shows how much he's has lost faith in Robles.

This happens all the time when first choice keepers are returning from injury, their understudy gets a pat on the back and a thanks for your efforts. But as soon as the number 1's fit he's playing again and the lesser keeper is sat on his bum, I can't believe people can't see this and are surprised by it.

I will say this, now is not the time to have a keeper battle. Stick with Howard through the rest of the year then open up the competition in pre-season.

Robles has steadied the ship while Howard decided he'd prefer to sit in the treatment room.

There's no way Howard should be stepping straight in. Robles has to make some obvious errors for Howard to be GK again. That's the way it works.

About GKs, wish some like USABlue had been around when we had Nev in goal, or even Andy not to mention Westie, would see a difference then.
Once again I never said Howard was amazing or even our clear cut no1. Just said he should play Europa. Proving my point about extremes again, no one is comparing Howard to Nev haha ffs

If Howard comes back in for this game then we can give up hope of Gareth Barry ever being dropped from now until the day his contract ends/he retires

Martinez is humouring us all, I'm convinced

Back four have confidence in current keeper it seems, could be an unpopular decision if Howard comes straight in.

Having said that, big pressure on Robles when he's actually keeping Howard out as opposed to deputising through injury, greater scrutiny
