Tim Howard

Sorry mate but in every team there's players weaker than others, some of whom have proven that over five years or more. That's why the likes of Howard and Osman attract criticism, it's not personal, it's necessary that the team improves.

While we continuing playing them, the likes of Mourinho doesn't hesitate to ship out "legends" like Lampard and Cole. We're either here to see the club win things, or using it as a comfort blanket with the same under-performing players year after year during which time the better players leave to play with other better players.
I have no problem searching for a better keeper, but he's what we've got for now so he gets my support, along with the rest wearing the blue.

Yep, it's a shame. I'm still going to be behind him 100% as long as he's at Everton. I know may be in the minority.

Yes, you're a better fan and person than we are, well done.

But this is a forum for conversation and saying 'this guy isn't playing well, I think we'll do better if we replaced him' is a resoanable avenue of conversation to take.

If you won't say anything negative about a current everton player then how you can possibly have a conversation about this club?

For Christ sake, can we just send him back to America and let Yanks have him back? They clearly still adore him and no one over here can stand the sight of him.

We'll put him on the plane, you lot pick up at the airport. His Everton days can't end a day too soon.

Haha...and we'll use?

Ah, right. Robles.

Despite your stereotype of American Evertonians, not all Americans think Tim is the greatest ever and doesn't make mistakes.

Wind it in mate.

Disturbing "phenomenon" of posters obsessively loyal to individuals rather than the overall good of the club currently.

There's also a disturbing "phenomenon" that a player is blamed for EVERY mistake in back, whether it's his fault or not.

Amazing that many on that side of the pond refuse to see that really.

This thread is full of people defending him and they're out in force after every game.

In January we need to buy/loan someone new and use them. Cech would be the perfect answer but that's unrealistic. We need to have a good look around and find someone who can do a job, at least for the short-term. Joel isn't fit to butter my toast, never mind play in goal for us. He can fall down a well for all I care.

Howard has become pathetically bad though and needs Fing off, anyone who still loves him and thinks he's good enough is in denial. It's not just mistakes he makes now, mistakes are when someone does something uncharacteristic. Howard messes up nearly every game and has cost us so many goals or at least played a part. Bad performances have become his usual standard now and that's absolutely not acceptable.

I'm not arsed how many magazine covers he gets on, he's finished as a top level goalie and it's about time people realise that, most importantly the manager.

I do think there's an American bias towards Howard and he's not the best, but there wasn't much he could have done about them goals today.

Aside from maybe the Pelle one, which was still a free shot from 6 yards out, he had no chance, and the back four in front of him need to be looked at first.

Although I do wish he'd stand up when facing one on ones instead of jumping out the way. Forster showed him how it's done against Lukaku late on. Howard would have been on his arse.

Listen.

I'm an American.

I'll be the FIRST to admit that Howard has been worse than poor this season. He's been terrible.

We need another GK as Robles isn't the answer.

When you see Americans defending Howard, it's more to do with him being blamed for EVERY goal when many times, it's his defenders who've dropped him in the grease.

But yeah, I agree that position needs a change.
