He "dived out the of the way" because when a striker has that much time that close to goal to shoot only a truly world class keeper can wait and rely on his reactions to try and save it.

Which the majority of keepers aren't, so they have to try and read the player and anticipate where the shot is going and spread yourself to cover as much of the goal as possible.

Thats what Howard done for that Fellaini chance, and he was right to do so.
