Tim Cahill Goodison Return? SSN

A big IF.

Besides, he'd add nothing to the team so i fail to see the point in him coming back at all.

He's a better option than what weve got at the minute, dont agree with him playing ahead of Barkley but think he could have an impact as a sub. He gives defences something to worry about aswell - especially on corners, set pieces etc. & from that could free up space for Felli, Jelavic to exploit

The fact that all of the above was untrue was the reason why he was sold.

He was gash from the bench, he was gash from the start of games. He was just gash. He wasn't troubling defences regardless of how long he was on the pitch, he was having zero impact, he wasn't scoring goals, and he certainly wasn't setting them up.

Why people think he'll come back from months of playing in an inferior league and suddenly be better than he was when we got rid of him is beyond me. Bringing him on loan would be a huge step back for this club.

Spend the money on a player who actually has the ability to grow and improve, or at least make the squad better.

I dont think hes improved, I think he could do a job. Our starting 11's sound, our problems the lack of options we've got on the bench - especially when we pick up a few injuries, there's no harm in having Cahill as an option & with our budget there isn't alot better out there.

Yeah I'm with Brennan on this. I love Cahill, but... I don't want my memory of him further tarnished.

He was really really bad in his last year or so here and he's not doing too well in the USA - there's no reason for us to bring him back.

Everton already has a bad impression of being an "old boys club" in regards to certain players and this move wouldn't dispel that belief. He can come over on holiday and train with the lads by all means but he shouldn't be anywhere near an actual place in our squad.

I'd love this to happen for purely sentimental reasons, a proper farewell and maybe one last corner flag celebration.

But there is harm. He would cost money and would get in the way of other players with more to offer now and certainly more to offer in the future from getting game time. It would be an utterly pointless exercise and i can only hope that those in favour of this are because of emotional reasons rather than footballing ones.

He's crap.

We had a bench full of Kids (Kennedy, Vellios, Junior), defenders (Distin, Duffy) or fringe players (Oviedo, Mucha) against Reading - once Reading went ahead there was little we could do to change the game, Personally I think Cahill would be a better option than what we've got & his expereince would add to the squad.

Fair enough mate. I'd rather have Barkley, Osman or Hitzlsperger coming off the bench when Gibson is back fit. Or we could spend the wages we'd give to Cahill on a player like Ofoe.

I’m glad that this story is a load of bollocks, because any club that is handing out contracts based on love, or a player’s form from five years ago, is a very, very unprofessional football club.

Same, I'd much rather have Osman or Barkley playing- think Hitzlspergers in the same bracket as Cahill though, in respect that neither of them are the players they once were, but think Cahill would be more likely than Hiltz to change a game.

If Ofoe's still available then yeah I'd much rather we went for him, but according to the latest rumours he isn't so we'll have to wait & see what happens with that one. If our first choice options aren't available in January though then I think Cahill could have a better impact than some are making out.
