Tim Cahill admits Everton 'couldn't hit a barn door at the moment'

Thats not what I said though, is it?

Yesterday: "We're too good to go down"
Today: "First of all, we need to make sure we dont get relegated..."

Thats what I mean by me disagreeing with him. I was surprise Moyes regarded him as fourth choice Captain - I'm not now...

No doubt I would be more sympathetic to him if he was playing well, but for months now every other day on my drive to work I am hearing a sound byte from him of how we'll up our game and start performing.... as I said - I can only take so many promises and statements of intentions without starting to think "Instead of telling us what you/we need to do... actually go and there and do it"

All of this 'we're going to improve' talk from the OS is not just by Cahill. Everyday there seems to be a new article from players such as Osman, Hibbert and Neville saying either 'we've got to start performing' or 'we need new additions to the squad'. If these quotes are accurate, then we all have the right to say 'well get the [Poor language removed] on with it on the pitch then'. but tbh, I think on Sunday every single player out there for Everton gave it there all, and as a life long Everton supporter it made me very proud to be there supporting my team, even though we got sucker punched. So hopefully now, this means that everyone who played this weekend will play every game with the same amount of effort that they did against the RS, as that's the least we'll expect from them.... if they don't, then long may threads such as this one continue.

It seems to be a bit of a compulsion that players give loads of positive interviews about how things are going to improve during bad runs. I think it's just because journalists probably question them more, hoping to hear a soundbyte criticising the owners, manager, a teammate etc, but players just spurt out the same old stuff on auto pilot. I scarcely bother reading such interviews. They are so dull.

Not much more to be said but I think some of you are forgetting his contributions to the club, and how well he's done for australia, and are writing him off way too fast. He's nowhere near done.
