Three players whom I have under-estimated

Fellaini is emerging into a Patrick Viera type player. Nothing like Alonso but very, very good nonetheless.

Osman is more like a poor mans Xavi, which is no bad thing as Xavi is one of the best there is.

Alsonso is a deep lying playmaker. Fellaini is now playing more as an ball winning midfielder, keeping it simple, recyling possesion.

Which is exactly what Alonso does, but he has the creativity to pick a forward pass as well, hence him being a world class player. If all a deep lying playmaker did was just sit there, wait for the ball to be passed to them and play a forward pass they'd be a bit [Poor language removed] wouldn't they. Do you think Fellaini is more like Mascherano, or Alonso?

I don't really care who he's like.

Fellaini is his own player. he is unique! A new jewl in the side,in the premier league and in the whole godamn world. It's about time the world recognises that.

Difficult to say, I would say hes nearer to Mascherano, then Alonso

I think hes quite unique tho. He has his own style, hes showing he can do the defensive duties, getting his feet in quickly and winning the ball. Hes even tracking runners and shielding his defense, hes much improved with that side. He also offers a big threat aerially, which he always has and also his ball retention is still superb.

I couldnt honestly think who else has the same talents.

Ball winning
Defense shielding
Aerial strength
Superb ball retention

All three players are ace. Ive always said if Ossie was a foot and stone taller he would be better then Gazza. Ossie give us varience, an outlet and he carries the ball yards, its the end product that sometimes leaves people frustrated.

You have to laugh almost 16 months on and still people cant decide on Mofros position.

I am enjoying some of the sceptisism about him here to be fair.

question has to be why moyes was playing cahill deep with felli behind the striker at the start of the season.

My guess would be presence, saha is slighter the the Yak and our game plan early season was hit as many long balls and crosses in as we could.

Do be fair he offten flipped them as per the cup final.

I like Osman, but I have to agree with Goat that he's limited. He is better used in the middle of midfield as you say DENNIS. He's got great feet that earns him space and he can punish a team on occasion when he joins in with an attack. But he's one of those players that cant impose themselves on the game and take it under control like Arteta can. He'd be lost in the middle of a four man midfield. Out wide there's too much competition and his spell on the right with Hibbert still generates nightmares. Too good for the bench; not good enough for the first team when all are available. :(
This.

Osman is technically a very good player and a scorer of exellent goals.
You could put together a Youtube video of him and he would look world class.

Our problem, and his unfortunately, is that I don't think Moyes quite knows what he wants in our starting eleven, or where to play people, and Osman has had to put up with playing on the right for much of his Everton career.

During the warm up, he played on the left, and actually looked very good there against the Americans.

Our midfield is quite strong, and it's possible that Osman has had to put up with not being as good as our central midfielders, and has had to fill the role of right wing because noone else can do it well.

Perhaps we are too hard on him then, because at least he is having a go there whilst others would look just as silly in that position.
