Threat of villa

I'd loov it if Gerrard went to Villa, thereby hastening the downfall of two least favourite clubs - Rangers and Villa. The shame is that he'd be unlikely to get the LFC job but I don't honestly think they'd consider him anyway. He's no Klopp!
I dont think he would go there, too big a job and why ruin what legacy he has like Ole has done.
Obviously Villa is a big step up from Rangers though, Slippy would be mad to not take it

on no I mean i completely agree on that. I think whoever goes to Newcastle is going to fail.. think the Purslow connection helped us land him...... that being said, I am very far from being sold on him

I think my main concern for Gerrard would be, how long is his shelf life is going to be.

I think we're seeing already that even though Rangers will still probably win the League again, the performances have not been as consistent, especially in Europe. Maybe it'll be different at Villa, but I don't necessarily think you can use the same tactics (which are almost ultra-attacking in some games) in the Premier League and get away with it.

You'll get some entertainment, I'm sure. But too much, too soon?

You're joking aren't you?

Gerrard would be all over it. It's not like Solskjaer is it, who went to Cardiff and failed, and he won a mediocre Norwegian league with Molde.

Gerrard has shown he can at least mix it up, even though the Scottish league is a two horse race, he still did a good job, and performed admirably in Europe (prior to this season).

He'd be all over that, it would be the biggest Cult show ever, every other week

I dunno, i would be shocked if they ask him anyway, be funny though if he did and it went pear shaped haha

The one thing that sticks with me is if he takes it and bombs that pretty much rules him out of the RS job, so perhaps he will see the benefit of just ticking over in Scotland, winning things until Klopp goes.

I hope that is the case as I don't want to have to hate Villa and I can't see him being a really top manager so hopefully he can Souness them when he does get the job.

Just watched the villa youth side play the rs off the park to win the fa youth trophy. The club seem like they are being run well top to bottom, owners are filthy rich, back room staff have been poached from clubs around the country and youth side is looking incredible. First team played some good stuff this season. Thier signings last summer weren’t flash but cash, Martinez, traore, and watkins have proved astute buys.
The manager again has improved them every season.
They seem like a club moving in a upward direction, well run and making wise investments for the long term good of the clubs future. While we seem like we are spunking money and hoping something lands lucky.
Big city, good stadium. Can see villa proving a big threat to our status in the tier below the big spenders over the next 10 years.
Meh

Truly depends when Klopp does leave, and who's available.

I just can't see a scenario where Gerrard isn't in any form of contact with Liverpool, about what's needed to be their manager.

Managing a big club and succeed. Winning the title, and setting up to do it again. What's next? Prove can handle pressure of Premier League?

But fully agree, would be hilarious if it goes pear shaped
