So the Tories are corrupt isn't rhetoric? They are only in it for their rich mates isn't rhetoric? Mmhmm.

And yes it is a high and mighty tone. It's totally immature, you're deluding yourself into the idea that you're making any positive sort of impression.

But carry on, your tears on June 9th will be beautiful.
The Tories are corrupt it's not rhetoric it's true... see the voting scandal, see the bank loan scandal. Not corrupt and only in it for thier mates? Take a look at G4S and who owns it, then you will see.

The fact that you say my tears will be glorious really has shown your true colours and are a right wing Tory. Go back to your corrupt mates maybe they will help you.

No more corrupt than any other political party. Each and every one has turmoil rotating around it. To say it's an exclusively Tory trait is naive in the extreme.

At the end of the day, it's clear which way the wind is blowing. You spinning round like a rabid attack dog snarling at anyone, rather than debating matters in a mature manner, who isn't dancing to your tune is grating. The immense schandfreude will make it all worth while.

Why are these threads being locked? Censorship?

Surely the locked threads topics need to be debated... never knew this place existed until now.

It is an interesting debate how tory and UKIP voters square the circle of supporting Everton.
To answer this, no, it's not censorship, otherwise this would've been locked too.

After speaking with @Bruce Wayne (who is probably the most politically clued-up of the staff), the problem appeared to be the "gung-ho" nature that the previous threads were started in, thereby encouraging rants rather than debates.

My own opinion - I was born in north Liverpool, I have lived my entire life in Liverpool and am a Labour voter as a rule.

Unlike the goings on with Glasgow/religion/football* though, I don't feel it's my place to tell those who don't match my profile that they can't be blues. Not sure we should be mixing politics and football although I am a blue and I am on the left.

In short, sensible debate is welcomed, rants are not. I think that's what @Bruce Wayne and @GrandOldTeam intended for this general section.

*this is not a prompt to discuss religion and football - leave it

And there you go with your snide sneering remarks again and you tell me to debate sensibly. Ok.

With respect mate putting a political section on a football forum was going to mean cross posting it was ineveitable.

I asked how people squared the circle of supporting the Tories and supporting Everton a Merseyside club, which is an area the Tories hate and have tried to destroy for years. From an anthropology stand point it's an interesting thing to talk about. As well and standing up to the clearly right wing politics that are being talked about here.

Yes and as I say, we're not stopping anyone talking about it.

We'd like it kept sensible rather than mud slinging, is all.

Spot on!

The Everton Committee that took us from Anfield to Goodison were all Liberals. They split from John Houlding (a Tory and Orangeman) who tried to rob us of the name Everton FC and keep it at Anfield to call his new club (the RS) it.

Living in North Liverpool, I often see the flash, poncey, southern, Tory bellwhiffs en route to that pit the other side of the park.

I do side work for my full time job on match days in that area. Its horrific the accents you hear. As well as the things they say. We have a cycling hub for the people who go and the amount of people who go on about them getting stolen. It is a horrible throwback to a bygone era.
