Those were the Days Everton version

Remember hearing one a few years ago about ian rush signing for juventus, went on for ever and seemed to have a few verses of Liverpool players in it. Can’t even remember the tune, just something about rush won’t be playing at anfield any more.

First big chant I heard was in the mid 1960s -

Oh we hate Bill Shankly & we hate Big Ron

We will hang the Kopites one by one

on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey

To hell with Liverpool & St John
We will throw them all in the Mersey

it had more verses forgotten them I was only 6 year old ....
Oh we hate Bill Shankly and we hate StJohn, but most of all we hate big Ron and we'll hang the kopites one by one from the banks of the royal blue Mersey
Oh to Hell with Liverpool and Rangers too, we'll throw them all in the Mersey and we'l fight fight fight with all our might for the boys in the royal blue jersey

Oh Ian, Ian Rush
He has gone to Juventus
And he won't play at A*****ld anymore
We all think it's funny, that Rushie took the money and he won't play at An****d anymore

There was a good one about Saurez when he got done for biting the Chelsea player— to the tune of “ That’s Amore”

When you live on a farm
And you bite someone’s arm —-That’s a Saurez.

When your forehead is wide
And your teeth are offside—- That’s a Saurez.

When you dive for a pen
Over and over again. That’s a Saurez.

When your gums are so tight
Like you’ve strained for a [Poor language removed] —That’s a Saurez.

Remember the song they played over the PA before the game in the mid seventies, Down in Scotty Road. As below.
