Hello. I think Messi is good player, but we need to consider other player. We need to find love with other player like Messi but a one who wears the blue, who can compare, let us reason for this. I think Mikel is a good player who can stroke ball and find the gap and be a goal. Other player that can be like Messi in blue is Hibbert, can cross the ball, very good trick on ball when fighting with other player and can put in cross for goal. Only the difference is Hibbert is a goal stopper but if we think of times Hibbert stopped goal and Messi score goal who has more? I think Hibbert stopped more than Messi score, so for this reason I consider Hibbert to be greater player in blue.
Much the same was said of Ronaldo and look how his career ended up. Only time will tell for Messi...he's on his way, though.
Ronaldo never had ANYTHING like the same amount of natural talent .
Different players , but even at his dribbling best at PSV he couldn't live with Li-oh-nell - C . R.B.o.G. 2010 - .
I wasn't really referring to talent Cabbie...just the tag of 'G.O.A.T.'.
I'm a bit slow tonight , 'Shrimp .
Cruyff and deffo Maradona. People need to stop bigging up Messi because they want to degrade Diego Armando. Get over the hand ball incident. It was a great hand ball anyway...made Shilton look like a right cnut.
That's so, so spot on. They're still seething 24 years later, they forgot about the second goal where he took the pure piss.
Anything to devalue Maradona, the overhyping blerts.
i have a feeling i'll be bumping this thread during the world cup finals, undoubtedly he's one of the best players in the world and his having an incredible season, but i really don't think he's going to be remembered as one of the greatest of all time. It seems that would be regarded as a bold statement today, but on the international level he's still largely unproven, and it'll be interesting to see if he can maintain that pizzazz after taking a couple of knocks against nigeria, which he undoubtedly will.
I watched Messi and Riquelme with the Argentine Youth team a couple of years ago in a tournament. With Aguero up front, Di Maria on the left and Mascherano behind them, they absolutely destroyed teams. And I mean toyed with them. I'm pretty sure Felli's Belgium got the semi's that year
