This club is a joke

they literally were playing at 70% and still over running us in every dept.

they are such a unit , and very clincal, finishing and passing
I always thought that although media were obsessing over them not signing anyone, it could actually be a good thing for them. They already had a great squad, and this year they have continuity and not having to bed new players in.
While we have obviously strengthened, the new team under a new manager are always going to take time to gel. We will get some good results and performances, and we will have some not so good ones. It happens 90% of the time with a new manager, no matter how good they are.

I think I'm actually done with this place now, the last few weeks have started giving me major migraines from how stupidly serious people take things, far more important issues in the world than crying over whether the club is a joke or not, end of the day it's a pasttime, a hobby, not life and death. Christmas is less than 2 days away, I'd suggest everyone just puts the bleach away, stop smoking the green and just enjoy the occasion, f football

Tbf, I'd suggest we started smoking the green. Apart from @Diogenes the Cynic of course...

Spurs could have used some depth, and maybe strengthened their bench. especially in a WC year. However w/ the exception of Man City all the top 5 have been abnormally free of injury this year.

Spurs didn't become this good overnight. When they really started spending money they still had struggles and it took a while to gel. Then they hit the lottery w/ Kane and haven't even had to worry about him leaving. So that kind of gives me hope.

yep, although thinking back, when we were finishing 5th and 6th under Moyes, we never really got the investment to go one step further and ended up going backwards. Spurs did manage to kick on and are now a top 3 side for the past few seasons.
It will take at least a couple of seasons to get back into a position where we are challenging to break into the top 4 again

It's quite obvious that the RS mafia have threatened all our players telling them if they don't play gash then they will be hurt or run out of town like Barkley.

Once you come to terms with that, everything makes perfect sense.

But it doesn't though. Mentality comes from the people who employ the manager and have certain expectations from him. It has to come from the very top. The club just shrugs off our misrable recent records againt top sides and hideous derby records and our abysmal cup records in recent years. You reckon that it's always been the manager every single time? Or is it somthing deeper. Our managers have failed for the same reason our players failed. Because of the club's embarrassing acceptance of mediocrity. We joke on here with the whole "Everton that" thing but there's almost certainly an element of that being used at the club as an inbuilt excuse for failure, in fact there 100% is, see Pickford's comments after the derby where me mentions the "Everton luck" or some such BS! If the powers that be accept garage like this and even ebrace is why would the manager not use it?

Exactly this winning mentality and belief comes from the top and down to our cowardly players. I actually think other clubs wouldn't put up with the cowards we have in charge and on the pitch at times. We need to get real we are years behind the top six, accept it and build a new mentality. Why is Kenwright still around?! We need to be ruthless from top to bottom! If the players don't perform they are out, if managers don't achieve certain targets they are under pressure. The dof needs to be accountable for his recruitment and the youth system. Look at City they ripped it up from top to bottom and acted like winners. We are too nice. The derby loss wasn't acceptable or luck it was a mistake by Pickford he should own it. Like today wasn't acceptable, like not beating Huddersfield and Newcastle wasn't. I feel like our money is being used to keep is where we are treading water. We look at our squad and its thin even with all the changes this summer. One injury in midfield and we are struggling, Coleman a great servant is no longer up to this level. Davies is a youngster, he may never develop he isn't a good enough back up. We are running out of time to ever join the elite. I fear we have missed the boat as they [Poor language removed] to a European super league within five years and football is over for me then.

In terms of league position this season, what would be an acceptable finish to you, and what wouldn’t?

I remember just a couple of weeks ago we were sitting in 6th place and the general consensus on here was that we were in a good place, possibly ready to make the next step.
Now we have lost a couple, it is all doom and gloom and everyone should be sacked.

We are such a polarised bunch

That’s it in a nutshell, our fans over egg our transfer day dealings, without ever seeeing them play, setting unrealistic targets. We did it 18 months ago and we did it 4 months ago. We had a decent run of games of teams in the bottom half. Then we lose the Derby, miss a couple of sitters but over egg the performance. Decent performance like. A draw was probably a fair result but we got done. However our fans went waaaaay ott over that performance. The tide is turning we all thought. We increase the pressure on ourselves in the next 2 comparitively easy games and then it comes down to yesterday where we left ourselves far too open. No doubt Silva was at fault tactically for yesterday but we don’t do ourselves any favours by going OTT on individual performances. Every team in the League will put in a good performance at sometime, Soton last week v Arsenal, Palace this weekend. You think they get carried away with it all like we do? I just think we, the fans, put far too much pressure/expectation on the team and when we’re not winning by a couple of goals in the ‘easier’ games, the atmosphere can turn quite quickly. Like it did v Newcastle and Watford (who were the better side) Players can lose confidence and stop playing their natural game. I honestly think us, as fans, need to change our mentality. We get far too carried away by a decent performance and then expect it every week. And when we don’t get it, the atmosphere can transmit onto the pitch.

Until we sign world class players we’re always gonna struggle to beat Newcastle watford west ham and other nextmen outfits.

City were the same but went out and started signing world class. That’s what makes the difference.

Watford west ham Newcastle - points thrown away.

Spurs different class.

Don’t need World Class players to beat them teams, you need the right mentality, tactics and workrate. You need World Class players to beat the best.
How many world Class players have the RS got? 2? VVD and Salah? They haven’t been there long, previously to them they were winning game through workrate alone.
