This club is a joke

I can't wait until VR gets good enough to confuse with real life, at that point I'm sure they will bring out a game where you the beleaguered supporter gets to sit in the stand of whatever clubs stadium and from there you watch your crappy team hammer everyone, going on to win the league, fa and league cups, champions league and world club cup. Hopefully with a celebrate down the pub add on afterwards.

At that point I can stop checking results and sink into my pretend world and if someone asks me to take a pill to come back into the real world I will flatly refuse staying in my created matrix forever more.

I honestly don't understand what some of you get out of being an Everton supporter. You are so disillusioned and in awe of other teams, you may be better off for your own health if you supported someone else.

If you ever thought supporting Everton would be easy, you are sadly mistaken.
You don’t get anything out of being an Everton supporter, apart from heartache ,pain and absolute depression.A massive thing no one mentions whilst this club has been treading water (at best) for the last quarter century is how many young fans have we lost , and then multiply their kids , and their kids kids etc etc , I bet we have never been so far away from the rs and the casim is only going to get bigger !

Because we never do it I’d imagine.

Nobody talked about it when we beat City away so often under Moyes, yet our performances against the other five were still as bad!

It’s just a statistic with no information value, pumped out for the Sky generation ‘analysing’ the game with other half-interested mates in the pub.

Actually they are. And unlike us they're in a real one, yet haven't used it as an excuse for failure like we have. Going from the championship to the premiership is one hell of a transition.

If they’d have gone down nobody would have batted an eyelid. Let’s see how they do in second, third, tenth seasons...

Before the season Fulham were being touted as top 7 challengers. Every team is in some form of transition or other so it’s no excuse. The point should be: what are our own criteria by which we will judge our own team. Nobody complaining about where we are is offering anything!

Disagree with above...

The chasm will not necessary get bigger, it could in fact decrease if we sign the right players over the next season or two...

Things are improving & with the new ground we are starting to look a serious club again, it may take a few seasons but never give up...

What will it take to actually be a formidable club that competes? We are a laughing stock. throwing money around doesn't matter when the wrong people are spending it. Demand excellence. don't settle for crap.
Moshiri still seems to be doing things arse about face for me.
Giving a Manager with potential all his dosh to spend. I’m talking as a supporter but for me I’d have grabbed a top of the range Manager and offered him a kings ransom.
All this entertaining football bollocks, I’d rather watch a Jose Chelsea win things than an attacking great football side that win sweet FA.
I can’t stand Everton sometimes.

No mate. Brands has the money now, completely different scenario.

What do you expect.

Moshiri since he's arrived has sacked 3 managers and is on his 4th manager with Silva and also on his 2nd DoF.

What team progresses with such an overhaul of chopping and changing, mid table is about par after all those changes.

Top 4 is a pipe dream right now, Turnover wise right now it's at £189 million, the top 6 clubs minus Spurs have turnovers £450-£650 million range and have worldwide fan bases and massive commercial appeal.

It's not at playing level that needs catching up it's off the pitch as well and every year the gap is getting bigger financially.

No wonder the Super League is being mooted, those clubs i mentioned are getting to big for the PL and will jump ship to the Super League when they think they have outgrown the PL and have the possibility of making even more money.
Excellent summation. Not sure how the rest of the season plays out now after great expectations.

I agree some of our fans need to take things a little bit better but it's a tough time to be an Evertonian at the moment. Under Moyes, the fans felt a frustration that we had reached a glass ceiling, and we were desperate for a Billionaire owner to take us to the next level. Moyes went and amazingly Martinez seemed to take us to a new level in 13-14 and the fans were starting to believe that we could push on finally. 2 awfully disappointing seasons followed, and we were then given a new lease of life with Moshiri coming in, and we brought in a big footballing name in Koeman and got 7th. Last season was a disaster, and there is no point in denying that what that lot do also comes in to play with how we feel as fans. They got to the CL final demolishing sides home and away, and now look like they're going to win their first title for nearly 30 years without having lost a single game.

Not many other supporters have to endure such mediocrity for their own club whilst their city rivals have so much joy.

But Everton are our club and we won't turn our back on them as we simply can't. The frustration with days like yesterday won't go away but I think the fans need to accept that the best we can achieve before moving to BMD (assuming that happens) is stabilising our position around 7th/8th and attempting to close the gap to ourselves and 6th.

Once we move Stadium, we will be seen in a different light and if Silva can have us in 7th for a few seasons, with Brands and him steadily adding quality of a good age then we will then have the foundations to make the step up and try and disrupt that top 6.

A reality check is needed by a lot of us. We are miles away from Man United and Arsenal, let alone sides like Spurs, Chelsea and the other 2.

The problem I see is we are sat in 10/11th and not many fans are bothered.

Yet the Red Echo instead of pointing out our poor run is more bothered with reporting:

"Fans fume at Sport Pesa and former manager Koeman"

Exactly in a nutshell why this club is a joke, fans and ownership alike happy with mediocrity whilst the local journo's havent the balls to ask the proper questions.
