You obviously haven't read the match thread Im not fussed on the result tonight the cups a distraction in my eyes this season with top 4 in sight.

If someone like Small cant play in these sorts of games then when will they play?

And this is why our academy production has halted because the next Rooney or Barkley will never get a chance.

Give him a go - he'll have experience around him likes of Keane/Mina with Richarlison infront tracking back and if we are winning around 60-70 minutes take him off and put Godfrey on to see the game out.

No crowd, against a team a league down - he absolutely should be in contention.

Both those players had games as a sub. And Rooney was the player of his generation, hardly a fair comparison for a young full back.

This is good experience for the lad and he'll be buzzing. Let him develop and if he does, the opportunities will come.
