When was the last time we had a striker that scored the sort of goal Watkins just has for Villa? Gets the ball on the edge of the box, makes a yard of space and then smashes a shot in.

Because we had Dom for so long, people seem to think a striker can only score a goal when it’s put on a plate.

When I watch today can I really blame Barry? Or Dibling? I can't. When he and Beto got service they scored. Shocker.

Barry and Dibling totally isolated in these poor tactics and its become a regular theme. How to judge a centre forward against 2 or 3 grocks every game when you just punt the ball in the air in his general direction.

We immediately had more impetus when we brought Armstrong on who can pass the ball forward. If Grealish would stop doing that city pass back inside thing and whip a few more balls in we’d be a lot more threatening.

I can confidently say now that the Grealish slowing the play down crap ive been angry about almost all season is down to Moyes because Dibling is doing it too.

Yep, AND look to drive in to score once in awhile, too. He wasn’t born to just be an assist guy. He has goals in him if he would just go for it once in a blue moon.

Its on Moyes im sure of it now. Ive been blaming Grealish but not with Dibling doing it too.

We lost the game because of Moyes. Fatal error in strategy that left us completely unequipped to deal with the opposition.

Daft imo to read too much into any individual performances when this is the case. Every single player was poor, even down to reliable performers like Garner.

Still feel that Barry will be a good player for us. And fwiw, I could be saying the same in the O'Brien thread or the Dibling thread where they are also being heavily criticised.

There's the bones of a good team here, just missing some crucial pieces. I think some will be shocked to see the upturn in the form of all of our players if we get some full backs.

The only players you can blame are McNeil and Keane today really who are known quantities.

He gets a really good reception in the stadium despite not playing well for half a season so it can't be that bad.

Would love to play against him as a centre half. Doesn’t do anywhere near enough to make it difficult to play against him.

Give over mate he’s awful. Doesn’t matter if you’re 20 or 40 that body language is pathetic. Look at Beto busting his balls that’s the bare minimum I expect out of anyone at any level playing a team sport. If you think people should be happy watching him paying what we did and earning what he does you’re mad, we’ve put up with this for too long and it’s getting beyond a joke now the recruitment is so inconsistent 80% of the time buying crap.
