So we replace a striker who goes 13-14 games without scoring with a striker who could beat that................

I thought he looked a little leggy last night. Wasn’t quite linking the play up aswell as previous games. I think if he gets off the mark with a couple of goals he will be ok but at this stage he should be back up for a more established player. Imagine having a player like Evanilson up front for us.

He looks incredibly raw. His hold up and link up play is improving. However, with the limited number of clear cut chances we create, it maybe is not the environment for a young striker learning his trade.
Plenty of calls on here to sign Liam Delap and Even Fergueson.
They are struggling for goals at Chelsea and Roma respectively, in teams that create loads more chances than us .
Let's look at this with some perspective.

I mean i know its a bit strange wanting them attributes in a striker but its worth a try.

Some players are up to the Premier League, this lad sadly isn't. We need some one who sniffs out goals like Troy Parrot, not saying he is the answer but someone like that. We would of course have to stop Hoff ball and keep it on the floor.

Very true mate but DCL still missed some absolute howlers, right up to his last game against Newcaslte.

Also to the people saying who he had playing with him - he had very good chances created for him by the game and missed them all. Doesn't matter who's put in the cross - if you miss a free header (17 times) it's on you.

His attempt last night was the right idea he just reacted too slowly to get there which gave the keeper time to get over.

He lifted it though, if he was onto it a second or so earlier he scores.

We didn't have one when we achieved our best finish in the last 35 years. Maybe Barry could be our Marcus Bent?

I agree with this. Our delivery into the box isn't always the best but his runs aren't great.
