2025/26 Thierno Barry

Two things stood out for me: how utterly incompetent his technique was - miscontrolled, handled, and sliced. And how he celebrated...

As a former amateur goalie, the worst shot in the world to face was the mishit. You could predict where a perfectly-struck ball would fly. You hadn't a hope when a donkey miskicked, like our very own striker did yesterday. People say he had no luck, but you make your own luck. His appalling lack of control caused him to handle that ball. His mishit slice was merely the boom-tish accompaniment to his pratfall. And if that wasn't bad enough, he celebrated like he'd scored the winner in a World Cup final. Thierno, lad, I know you're under pressure and are desperate for a goal, but we were 4-0 down... It isn't all about you. It's a team game...

I appreciate that not every player comes to us as the finished product - but this fanbase deserves better than YTS kids leading the line. I saw enough yesterday to confirm that this fella is not the solution this season - and probably won't ever be.
Great post spot on. First time seeing him in the flesh yesterday and thought he was appalling in all departments. Kept telling my young lad keep believing..if he can make it you can

Got no pace this lad.

The best he can hope for is being an auld fashion target man who nods it down to supporting players. He’ll need to toughen up substantially for that though.

Whoever scouted this lad can I see your reports please and what conclusions were drawn to establish him as a worthy signing for Everton.

Look at the way Michael Keane controlled and volleyed the ball on the edge of the box after a knock down from Tarkowski. That's what a natural forward does. We've paid £50 million for 2 strikers who are incapable of this, it's sheer incompetence from our recruitment team.

Regardless of who plays ‘up front’ they will struggle.
We progress the ball far too slowly .
Even when the ball falls for us , the breaking player lacks support.
We lack aggression in attack .
We rely entirely on the abilities of two players to conjure up an opening against an invariably ordered defence.
It’s like the entire team is wading through treacle.
We are not very good
