2025/26 Thierno Barry

Just wish the fans would chill calling it a great performance was a good team performance defensively but pretty poor the few times we went forward, especially at the end better quality and we should have finished the game off twice on the counter. Time will tell and like any player hope he does well but I don’t see it yet and winning the most aerial duels in a game so far this season doesn’t do it for me he’s a 6ft 4 athlete
it's happened in a couple of games recently on the counter - we mess it up badly when it should be an easy through ball/pass. It clearly looks like the players don't quite know who's going to run where - but they just need to play together more and hopefully it'll all click.

Did some good stuff on Monday and won a lot of aerial contests, but where it counts, on the ball and leading the forward line hes still severely lacking.

Its good to see him 100%, giving his all and improving in areas but come on lads, I mean whe he gets on the ball, or is making a run, he seems clueless.

I really hope to be wrong, if he does find a way it transforms this team.

To be fair, besides the chance at Sunderland I can't remember us creating anything for him except for speculative crosses into the box, one things for sure he's a far better fit for the team than Beto, he's a far better footballer
This is overlooked.

Has a cumulative total of 1.56 XG in the league this year and hasn't amassed a cumulative total within a game of greater than 0.6 (against Brighton). In other words, other than that Sunderland chance, we've not really given him anything to feed on.

Grealish and Ndiaye are giving our centre forwards loads of service. The lad is constantly on his heels, his movement in the box has been awful. Doesn't run across defenders. Gets bullied at set pieces and often outmuscled by centre halves.

Beto isn't finishing his chances, shown in the stats one of the worst finishers this season.

A striker having a poor cumulative xG isn't just down to lack of service. That's what happens when you only look at numbers, you don't understand the context.
