2025/26 Thierno Barry

Rough start for the lad so far, seems really rough around the edges. Don't think he looked great in the summer international games. Honest opinion from me is he's nowhere near being a starter yet, got to give him some decent minutes in the league and see which of our starting lads around him, Grealish, KDH, Ndiaye etc. he can vibe with. Sub Barry on and see if the lads can bag an assist with Barry as the scorer. Grealish or Ndiaye should have no problems setting up a goal for a 6'5 number 9.

What is it with us and strikers? Chermity, Kean, Barry, Maupay, Niasse, Sandro, Rondon - is any more useless garbage that I've missed from the past few years?
Wouldn't say Chermiti was bad just horrifically unlucky. The lad barely got any game time but he always looked decent when he did. Barry's a weird case because he's had five clubs in five years and each of those seasons before us he's scored over 10 goals. 1 season in French fifth division, 1 season in Belgian second division, 2 seasons in Swiss first division and 1 season in French first division. Absolute worlds apart from the demands of Prem football. This is probably his first season of proper graft.

Igor Jesus, £10m from Botofogo and he looks PL ready for Forest.

Easy to be wise after the event but we keep paying two or three times that for duds
Far too early say is a dud still feel is a player in barry, bad game vs wolves in the cup and frustration got the better of him. More time working with the team and o am aure will see him kick on

I was thinking more about this when playing fifa last night and realising past talents that have started to blossom elsewhere since leaving us..

Moise Kean
Ademola Lookman

Both great young talents that came here but didn't get rated by managers or given a bit of patience. Most likely both worth alot of money now too.

Barry needs patience, and minutes. He is a better footballer than Beto, so we simply must support him and back him. I believe he has the right qualities to succeed, and has shown glimpses of good all round play, just needs to put one in the back of the net and build on understandings with team mates.

No point buying great young talent if we won't let them develop here and then become a success only once they move away..

Lookman wasn’t deemed good enough at Fulham or Leicester let’s not forget.
Also his breakthrough loan in Germany was a bit of a damp squib when he went back.

Both look good in lesser leagues, we’ve bought our fair share of those who have then struggled in the EPL.

I always rated Lookman to be fair, was clear he had quality, not sure why it eventually clicked in Italy. But was always a player in there.

Thought he deserved more chances when he was here

Leipzig and leicester both looked away from lookman tho, he just took a while longer then clubs will wait today..

Atalanta was maybe just the right timing for him to settle..
