2025/26 Thierno Barry

People trying to say he's feeding of scraps obviously have said he looks a great player earlier on in the thread and they are trying to keep theirs heads above water. He is woeful. Anyone who says different are being very very silly.

promising youngster is 17/18 odd to me. Not 23. Just not impressed myself with him, and never have been. Fed up of boring myself saying it. He does not cause the back 4 of most defences to many problems. Moyes has even said at times that Barry needs to do more, some games he actually scored in, he should have been off way before, but feels like Moyes just leaves him on for the sake of it
I get it mate. But the point is we were never gonna be able to sign the finished article. We never have. The lad was never supposed to be our first choice and regardless of his age he is a novice in this league. He's been thrown in at the deep end for whatever reason and hes done really well considering. We need an experienced strong striker but from where? The kid has improved dramatically in my opinion.

I just can’t fathom the suggestion he ‘wasn’t meant to be first choice’. Moyes has never liked Beto. I think absolutely everyone expected Barry to start loads of games.

He gives it a go but for me he's simply nowhere near the standard required to be a good PL striker.

Weaknesses in all areas of his game - inaccurate passes and clumsy with the ball, not strong enough, not a composed finisher, doesn't necessarily run the channels. It's not his fault and I like the guy but I'm struggling to see why we signed him if I'm honest.

Thought he did ok but he wouldnt get anywhere near a side around the top 5 or 6. More i watch him more i think his all round game isnt suited to this league. But wasnt to bad last night.

Seeing him up close last night, I’ve got to say, he’s even worse than I thought.

Like playing with 10 men.

Service to him is atrocious but he’s all over the place. Would be a dream to play against as a centre back, an easy nights work.

A new centre forward and two fullbacks who Moyes actually plays are essential in the summer.

Pretty sure he was intended to be first choice, or certainly share equal billing. He's another one where I can't quite work out why people want to make out like he's still taking his first steps in the game or we picked him up from Colchester United for £300k. There was a bloke by me in the ground last night saying 'what do you expect him to do, he's a kid playing against 2 international centre halves'. He's three years older than Yoro, who isn't an international centre half at all, and the other one is Harry Maguire, who's 33, hasn't been an international for 2 years, and has been a laughing stock for half his career, it's just bizarre to make out like there's no way we can expect him to cause them a few problems.
