2025/26 Thierno Barry

Most footballers have, in one form or another, since they were kids. I bet if you asked most of them (after retirement and "the cape" comes off), few ranked up and immediately felt like they belonged (Rooney, for instance) but most that reach this level have done so through perseverance.
Yeah your probably right on that.

Its probably just my ignorance to social media and profiling..

If I did use it, i would rather show what I have done, rather than what someone has said I could do.

But I am probably different than most people on this outlook..

I'd start him today, not because he's earned it but because Beto started 2 games ago and was absolutely diabolical, then came on last week against poor opposition, played 40 minutes and was just as bad.

This must be approaching last chance saloon for these two though — I'd be giving Barry 60 minutes from the start for the next 3 games and tell him to show something.

Beto has had his chances since joining us and all he's had is one something like five-game hot streak ages ago and that's it. Even Iwobi put together a short run of form for us and he was and awful signing, same with McNeil.

Barry must start producing, or I'd be getting them both touted around Europe for permanent moves in January, or loans with obligations to purchase.

You'd imagine (Moyes said as much yesterday) there is money available in January, even more so if we can flog one of both of these duds. Get McNeil sold while we're at it. If we could get £20m for the three of them that's a good down payment on a top striker.

He was never a player I would have signed. For his age way to many gaps in his profile.

He's here now, all we can do is get behind him. I hope he starts today and gets more than 50 minutes.

The other option isn’t worth thinking about. No one can ever tell me that Beto is a professional footballer. Christ see better down the park on a Sunday.

There is also a huge chance that his profile picture isn’t a dig and actually a young lad taking the mick out of himself.

It was objectively funny that camera kept cutting to close ups of him on the bench like that.
100% this. he hasn't had the best start playing wise but he seems quite sound/interesting guy compared to most footballers. recall him wearing a couple of t shirts depicting art and he's also wore a few retro Everton tops. he seems like sound fella who doesn't take himself too seriously

It’s very easy to read too much into too g these days and a lot of people see things that aren’t there.

And even if he did decide to have a dig, what’s his supporting evidence? A zero goal return by November?

yeh I don't think he was having a dig at all that's why I posted what I did.

I think he's a sound lad who just wants to succeed. I also don't think Moyes would pick him otherwise

We'll never really know what he means unless he addresses it. It's why all this social media stuff is stupid.

I think we've signed somebody who is quite fragile. You could see it in the Sunderland game. He wasn't having a terrible game at all, in fact a goal would have rounded off a very solid first half and then he missed and then his head just dropped and he was awful. That's a tough position to be in as a prem striker as you are not given much grace.

I worry for him, as obviously want to get behind him and succeed. But it's hard to be positive when we are struggling to see when the next shot on target will come, let alone goal.
