You're right..it's also genuinely annoying and a massive waste of time.

The boring answer for why this stuff takes so long is that we probably have obligations to the kit manufacturers and now a bunch of stadium stakeholders to essentially produce promotional content for them with signing announcements.

This would also factor into day of the week and time of announcement for maximum engagement.
