I agree he doesn't deserve the vitriol, I've mentioned this before he does have a tendency to insert himself in the narrative i don't think he's being intentionally opportunistic I think it's more he wants to be perceived as having ties to behind the scenes at Everton. I went down the rabbit hole and watched his highlights last night. One thing that stands out is his ability to head the ball at his age. Also, I think for someone who is 6'5", he has quick feet and good awareness of what's around him, all of which allows him to turn defenders.
