theo Walcott does not:

• Cover for coleman
• Score
• Put in a decent cross
• Press
• Or have any form a technical ability

yet somehow starts today against a team that will hurt you

I'll tell you Silvas thinking, if you can't work it out. Against a team like City, who will probably have most of the play, and in our half, Walcott is still fast enough to be the perfect out ball for us. Iwobi when he came on was frankly awful today, although he has had a couple of good games. He is certainly not an 'outball' like Walcott. When Walcott is not in the team, Bernard is our best out ball.

Walcott has never worked with Coleman, completely out of sink. He also doesn’t support the defensive side of things. He’s terrible on the ball as well

so we basically played him to hoof it and let him chase it

...watching the game, you can understand why he started. I’m actually encouraged Silva did so.

The injury is a major concern. Good job the staff dealt with it seriously. You can’t take chances with things like that. The treatment of the lad at Hull set the standard, the Doctor there saved his life.

Genuinely hope he is alright......but is that Everton’s quickest ever substitute record safely owned for a generation by Walcott? Possibly even the Premierships quickest substitute? Another Goodison first.

Took one of these personally, team mate sliced a shot clean into my ear from about 3 yards,
Put me on my arse and was unable to get up for about 30 seconds, felt wobbly for the next few hours,
Hopefully Theo recovers quickly
