2018/19 Theo Walcott

As many have said, it's one game and he was rusty. If Bernard or Ricarlison eventually replace him, he'll come off the bench and that's fine. Silva's biggest issue with Watford's acquisition policy was the lack of depth behind Ricarlison and his wingers. He's got that here, everyone has a bad game, the competition will push him to do better.

Depth wont be an issue next season. Just on fast wide players we will have;

Richarlison
Bernard
Lookman
Onyekuru
Walcott

Id sell Walcott and replace with a younger better model.

I think we need to keep Walcott. He would be in my 1st choice team if everyone available you need a blend of youth and experience and with Jagielka not likely to get back in and Baines eventually replaced by Digne it will be a very young team. Players like Walcott and Coleman will be the steady hands to guide younger players.

You're literally suggesting that Onyekuru (no work permit, no idea if he will ever get one) and Lookman (about 6 games for the first team) are going to be better than Theo Walcott here, aren't you?

Madman.

He`s had one pre season game, looked a bit rusty yesterday.

One of our best players last season, amongst a team of turds and people are wanting to bin him off already.

Madness.

Did you like that we signed u25 year olds this window or would you prefer we went for 29 year olds?

Because clearly if the strategy is for u25s then its ridiculous to hold onto 2 players who can easily be upgraded with additions at least 5 years younger.

Ideally you need a mix. Walcott is a seasoned pro with much to offer. For 20 million he was a good buy, given what we chucked at Gylfi and Bolassie. I think he's the least of our signing woes or worries of recent times.
