he's not winning any trophies this season.

We effectively have 8months of meaningful football until he turns 30.

He's on the way downhill...not at his peak and wont improve...its a stupid signing to go along with many other stupid signings of the past couple of years

Bolasie 23mil+
Walcott 20-25mil
Sigurdsson 45mil
Schneiderlin 23mil
Klaassen 23mil
Williams 13mil

6 players for 150mil+ in transfer fees,,,what are they worth now;

Bolasie 10mil
Walcott wont be worth 15mil if we tried to sell
Sigurdsson 15-20mil
Schneiderlin 15mil
Klaassen 12mil
Williams 1mil

68mil ish to replace 6 players.

So a potential splash of 82mil ish

Hypothetically if we could sell those players and make our money back...

Would you sign them for 150mil ?

Jamie Vardy is 31 and still has pace to burn and is doing it at the top level.
A lot depends on the individual but you can't really write a player off just because he is hitting 30 next year.

Typical Walcott, shows huge amount of pace to get eveything where he and the team wants it and then faffs about instead of getting it over the line.

To be honest, I am just bored. Why can't everything happen as fast as it used to before the internet and agonizing scrutiny over every detail real or mostly imagined?

Welcome aboard Theo. I can't wait to see you standing next to the big blue wall with the badge on that has been a tradition since Summer.

We made a bid a few days ago, he had his medical yesterday afternoon/evening. It will likely be announced today. That’s rapid for Everton. All deals take time (except deadline day when people panic). It’s the same as anyone moving to another job, it doesn’t happen straight away.
It will also be everton delaying so that they can film their rubbish video in daylight.

I refuse to believe this. Apparently we sent the offer in the summer but someone got the fax number wrong.

Don't get how people can't see what awful transfer policy this is. A bunch of expensive, ageing second rate players isn't going to get us anywhere, and we'll be in big trouble in a couple of years time. It doesn't matter if Walcott improves us today, we aren't competing for anything this season anymore. We need to be thinking long term.

Imagine if instead of Walcott Bolasie and sigurdsson we'd bought a couple of great players approaching their prime that would be the core of the team for the next 5 years.

Like who?

Bolasie was coming into the prime of his career when he got injured. He was signed at the right time. Whether he is good enough is a different matter but he was signed at the time you want players to sign. Siggy is a good player who still has years left if we play him in the right place. We need to get players like Walcott so we improve now and then can attract these “great players approaching their prime” that you speak of.

Money is always an issue unless you’re Man City and I’ve seen nothing to date that says money isn’t an issue for us. Please name me out and out pacy wide men who are playing in the Premier League regularly past 30.

Well first of all Walcott is not past 30 is he?

I think you are doing a great disservice to Walcott too. His game is not just about pace, he does have other attributes.

Ryan Giggs did alright for himself beyond 30...

We are buying a proven premier league player in his prime and not for a lot of money really. We lack players like that right now but of course the way we are as a fanbase these days we have to moan before a player has even kicked a ball for us!

No wonder we are crap.
