Yes...because that is currently the cheapest way to temp house people, and they aren't five star, living in a hotel when you have little money and no cooking facilities is not an enjoyable experience

Why is the taxpayer funding this? Why is this deemed to be acceptable when looking at the recent Presidential election in the US and also Brexit...clearly most people dont want it.

Im pretty sure the hotels provide the meals seeing as there were so many complaints when paying guests were sharing hotels with non-paying freeloaders.

what do you think should happen to asylum seekers then, just leave them on the streets?

I never thought I'd see the day I was wishing for Trump to get the Oval Office, but we need that ASAP if Biden and his idiots aren't to obliterate us all.

Just out if interest, who is being given hotel accommodation on behalf of the tax payer. Is it illegal immigrants or refugees? I very much doubt that illegal immigrants are getting this.

This is the issue with generalising the immigrant argument. Nobody wants illegal immigration, the current landscape does warrant that it is a big problem in some countries. The main problem that every single individual is being thrown into the same bracket, immigrant = criminal.

As a fellow human being I have no problem with honest people wanting a better life, I have no problem with a country/community, that can afford to and be able to, accepting those people to try and give them that better life.

Unfortunately, the red tape and the rhetoric that they are all not welcome stops any common sense thought process as to how to handle them. It has been said many times that the Democrats have just as strong a border policy, if not stronger in some states/individuals, than the Republicans. Nobody wants a free for all, it is about giving them better opportunities to apply for asylum, enter a country on valid permanent/temporary work permits, that can be gained with an efficient process to check that validity. That is the pipe dream, the first step is to understand the different individual situations that can necessitate needing to or wanting to move country and stop demonising them all in one blanket statement.

Good luck with this.

What we must all remember is that much as some may find Zat's stance disagreeable, he's really not alone in this viewpoint.

Which is pretty depressing really.

I am fairly certain that if life went south, they'd be the first clamouring for help though. Nay, demanding it.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure he's just trolling so best ignored. Which also says much.

Its well known that hotels in both the UK and US are being booked up.

Certainly not a "ridiculous statement".

The hotels that are being used, tend to be hotels owned by companies like Britannia Hotels ( look them up )

Hotels that aren`t very nice, run down or in out of town sites, close to motorways, like the Suites Hotel in Kirkby where all the trouble was last year.

In other words, not very pleasant places to spend a long time, usually not close to any amenities and generally not much to do either.

Which I should imagine is a pretty soul destroying way to live - but better than being dead / imprisoned / tortured or sexually abused.

I don`t think Claridges will be giving up any rooms to would be asylum seekers anytime soon.

He's all of the above

Rwanda...as was supposed to be the 'solution'.

The same that Germany and US have and are discussing.

As for the illegal crossings...harsh treatment.
