I wonder if musk will invent a bio company and hoover up the best suddenly recently redundant.

Actually, now that I've read the article and not just the headline, they're cutting "administrative costs" by up to $4B. Obviously still a concern, especially if your salary is paid through admin costs and not directly by the grant, but maybe not as dire as the headline sounds. Still, a lot of labs will probably be required to close up shop even with a temporary funding halt. And when labs close doors it probably costs more to reopen than if you'd just kept them open instead.

Of course no such wording would appear on contracts of these 80k new IRS agents. and open themselves up to never ending litigation claiming discrimination by people with the money to challenge everything. Sure
