Yeah, and 'reside' isn't exactly a great word for the governor to use. If you move from Florida to Illinois, and intend to stay in Illinois then you reside in Illinois. If illegals move to Illinois today and ICE try to deport them from Illinois in, say, six months time then they are residents of Illinois.

Do you believe this statement from the governor will be more likely to deter or attract illegals moving to Illinois?

'Pritzker went out of his way to say that there’s an exception for undocumented immigrants found guilty of violent crimes, who he said in accordance with longstanding law should not be allowed in Illinois or the U.S.'

The guidance from ISBE(Illinois Board of Education)stresses that schools should not “force” a student or family to share their immigration status, such as when figuring out students’ residency for enrollment eligibility purposes.

What the article does NOT say; that the definition of an 'Illinois resident' is limited to those illegals paying tax or enrolling in school. It merely says illegal immigrants often pay tax and some of their children attend Illinois schools. That's it.

Presumably they want to just dole out a piece of the full FEMA pie to each individual state and allow them to use it as they need/see fit. The problem is, natural disasters don’t strike all states equally, and don’t strike in the same places each year.

Since fires have been in the news lately, I’ll use a firefighting analogy. Under the current system, FEMA is like a giant tank of water on wheels that the entire country has access to that can be moved from place to place and fight whatever proverbial (sometimes literal) fires break out. Trump is proposing distributing this water into 50 smaller tanks that are all bolted into place, and equipping each state with a hose that doesn’t extend beyond it’s borders to ensure that there is absolutely no sharing of water you’ve been rationed.

Again…a MONUMENTALLY stupid idea.

I don't have any single news source I rely on. Usually best to get your news from a variety of sources from different ideological slants. All the while remembering all news sources are likely lying, spinning or telling you half truths.

Personally I'd be happy enough for the MSM to remain but with massively reduced budgets and different priorities. Even you must realise that what the MSM have been doing in recent years has not exactly strengthened political culture or journalistic practices.
