Loving the headline of this article from the Daily Fail, the customer reactions are a belter as well.

Why are the right so sensitive?

And the continuously upset cliché of the year award goes to Jason Isherwood, he won it with the glorious use of the phrase 'It's political correctness gone wrong'.

The judges noted that the use of the word 'wrong', instead of the usually accepted wording of 'mad', caught their eye. They thought it was especially inventive.

Mr Isherwood wins a slap round the face for being such an unbelievable numpty.

So much dumb. The ploughman's lunch was invented by the cheese marketing bureau in the 1950's to increase sales of cheese. Call it whatever the fk you want.

Exactly. I'm not remotely an expert in this area, but 'woke' to one side is a perfectly legitimate newly acquired awareness of systemic racism, not as obvious as, eg idiots riding around in white sheets, but still oppressive to a variety of non-white, non-anglo people. There do seem to be, however, those who spend every waking moment in obsessively twisting reality to make everything about race and white oppression of the rest of humanity, and analyse every syllable uttered by others in the hope of finding a shred of something to allow them to claim racism at play, rather than deal sensibly with life. 'Woke' is often used pejoratively to describe those folk. Consequently, it's sometimes difficult to discern in what sense 'woke' is being used. Tricky.

Twisting reality to make everything about race and suppression is also something done constantly by self proclaimed anti-wokes. They spend every waking hour portraying anything 'wokeist' as a direct attack on 'traditional' white, anglo values which are as vaguely defined by them as woke itself.

Quite often if someone actually sits down and reads the majority of 'wokeist' ideas they realise that banning Christmas, making white males extinct, destroying heterosexuality, the Islamification of Europe or other woke conspiracies aren't actually happening. Ideas may be flawed in someone else's view or poorly thought out from another perspective but there is generally an argument to be made or discussion to be had.

However they are generally attacked on the basis of a deliberately misrepresentative soundbite or sensationalist headline. There's the odd barmy 6th Form political notion here and there but they're very much a tiny minority whose biggest exposure comes from the anti-woke media in an attempt to group together and discredit a larger number of their opponents.

But if you sit and read stuff like the Torygraph article mentioned here then the purposefully anti-woke articles are genuinely stupid, ill-informed or just outright lies and misrepresentation with little to no substance or solid argument. It's the same old method of finding a convenient 'other' to blame for all social ills and deflect attention from those with genuine culpability.
