Usually, the way to go there is to parse the logic. It won't work with the person, because they just demonstrated they cannot reason and therefore are not persuadable via logic, but the sharper members of the audience will follow.

If you go ad hominem you're just taking the bait. Their entire argument is in-group, out-group in the first place, so you're playing right into their non-falsifiable narrative.

Honeestly, his post on racism (which I was replying to) is one of the most offensive and ill thought out retorts you will find. He just spouts stuff that he has no idea about and hopes something sticks. Imgine comparing the brutality of the 400 year + Atlantic slave trade and modern slavery, it is beyond compare.
