What if most people feel annoyed at the question. A medical condition that’s impossible for me to have? You thinks it’s a valid line of questioning and valuable use of resource?

It’s not just pregnant that follows biology. The question is polticlaly motivated and should not be welcome in a medical / scientific environment.

What strange logic. There are TONS of medicines and procedures that are dangerous if someone is pregnant.
Without knowing the context (because you've been vague apart from "this definitely happened"), it's entirely reasonable for a doctor to NEED to know if a patient is pregnant in order to administer the best care.

Asking "Are you pregnant?" seems the quickest route to finding out. It is SOOOOOOO stupid to suggest this question is not welcome in a medical / scientific environment. You are becoming more amusing post by post tying yourself in knots and changing what it is you are upset about.
