Snake oil salesmen have always peddled easy answers. There's always been someone thick enough to buy it all up. Average IQ is exactly that, an average, it means 50% occupy beneath that line. You'll never lose a dollar appealing to the lowest common denominator. This aspect of humanity has never been so widespread and easily exploited before. We all get a vote though...

People like me are the majority, the woke are a minority, I’m what’s called normal / moderate.

My life choices are fine, you’re on a woke thread trolling everyone else and don’t like it back? Soooo funny. Maybe you need to look at your life choices and brush your tooth?

The woke just live in an echo chamber bubble, that is a western minority view point. The moderate people collectively role their eyes when you start waffling about “birthing people” or whatever other ludicrous words / phrases you try force on everyone else.

You don’t like being called out on your identity politics. It’s a virus in every aspect of our media. Movie /advert roles have to be woke box ticking. A total false narrative like described by the meme is exactly the sort of crap the woke media drools over.

No doubt you support the war in true woke fashion, no original thought just Russia bad West good. Then change your profile pic to have a flag over the back ground, so righteous.

Stunning and brave, more like totalitarian and deluded. I’d rather be a dung beetle than a wokeflake. Ironic you saying I have no original thoughts. When this your base case:

Good day!

Some good not groupthink here pal, keep rocking that boat!

I often wonder who these people were before they were brainwashed

I worked with a guy that suddenly started talking about trump and climate change out of nowhere despite never having spoken about anything but football and women before

It went the usual route of him starting to introduce those topics in more and more conversations and over time branching off into all the other topics they suddenly cared strongly about despite them having no relevance to their day to day life and never having mentioned them before

I tried softly asking about each topic and what they thought and how they knew this and whether they were sure it was true and at the start there was conversations that went into silence because of this but after a while it was just impossible as they would get agitated and repeat things and doing a kev, deciding they can’t even talk to you

He had a wife and two kids and his whole personality had changed. This all happened over little more than a year until he had some health issues and passed away all of a sudden

When I see this disease around me I always think of how that guy ended up spending the last year of his life and it’s utterly depressing. I still remember the first time he said poor old Donald out of nowhere when he was reading something on his phone, and it just went spiraling from that moment.

My brother moved over to Barcelona a few years ago as well and one of his friends decided to move over with his wife and kid soon after. I noticed he hadn’t been meeting up with him as I was expecting I’d meet his mate at some point, and he was gutted telling me the guy was totally lost with all this stuff. He met him once and didn’t even get past a couple mins of a normal conversation. He used to spend a lot of time with him and his family previously. All of their friend group have been over to visit and they haven’t seen him and I assume no contact at all now.

A guy from my footy group suddenly mention Ben Shapiro and Barbie in the same sentence the other day and my heart sank. It was said in a manner I know too well, stating out loud and confidently something that you should know others will completely disagree with but whatever hole you’ve jumped into is making you think everybody is going to agree with you. I was quite happy that in a group of about 15 guys sitting around after a game that nobody continued the conversation, it was just an awkward silence that I hope made him think.

Sorry for rambling

I had a similar experience with an adult student of mine, a German manager who runs the logistic section of a large company here in Plzen, married (albeit unhappily) with a kid. He went from being slightly Euro-sceptic to full AFD in about six months, could loop every topic back to German politics and immigration.

The mainstream media hating seemed to come hand-in-hand with the Soros references. It's like he found a website and everything clicked for him, we had a few online lessons during Covid and, of course, he was vehemently anti-vax. His child has a really rare congenital disease and I asked him how he squared his anti-vax, anti-science stance with his son depending on meds to keep them alive. Basically, his son's condition was real but Covid was fake.

Wife divorced him and moved to Germany - she's Czech. Last time we spoke, couple of years back now, he was ranting how unfair it was that his wife had moved to Germany and the Czech government wouldn't force her to move back.

Truly bizarre, unhappy and lonely man.

Sorry for rambling

I did a training course a few years ago, and as part of it had a ten minute talk which was advertised as "how the human mind works". The argument was basically that we are still pretty much the same creatures as we were 100,000 years ago as hunter-gatherers, and so our minds are built around seeing only a small amount of information, seeing if it forms a pattern and coming to a decision about it. They demonstrated this by that famous gorilla test.

The lady doing the talk then explained that if we are seeing objective reality ourselves (eg: that kettle is on a fire and it is emitting whistling steam, therefore I know it contains hot water so I know not to touch it with my hands) this is usually fine, but all of it depends entirely on what information we are exposed to when trying to come to conclusions. Give someone even a small amount of the wrong info and they essentially delude themselves, because they associate that info with something they can perceive as real.

This post has made me realise I’m more hungover than I thought I was. It’s not making any sense right now. Off to play footy now and I’ll give it another go later

This is an excellent post and one I can totally relate to. I have many friends and people in the wider circle who have lost it. It’s tragic and I don’t see how they ever come back

🥱

The don is bad blah blah you could literally switch the argument round.

I had a woke friend who suddenly started waffling on about critical race theory, the gender bread man and climate catastrophe, as well as the safety of vaccines and how they stop you getting and spreading the virus.

Of course none of this affected his day to day so he should just shut up, instead he she they, tried to force his views on me and acted like a petulant child when challenged, whilst using crazy words like “birthing people” going on and on about cultural appropriation etc then praised race swapping cleopatra and Ann Boleyn, because why the hell not!

To make matters worse they no nothing about climate modelling, mathematical modelling and basic biology. Also they lied about the vaccine. Woke fools too far gone.
