Do you know what I find particularly interesting about woke. It's the political aspect to it. Woke is about being ultra individualistic and not caring about what anyone else thinks or feels: kids, community, country, society etc.

So wokeism is like Thatcherism but to infinity. Ultra self interest. There's no such thing as society...

I know, it is incredible how the most basic units of civility and decency have been upended by the weird woke religion. They embrace an individualism that is so extreme it means they care only about themselves and their feelings. Kids, community, society etc don't rank at all except that they become oppressors of their feelings to do and behave however they want, blocking traffic, vandalising buildings, having weird trannies reading to kids, celebrating naked men marching through the streets, pulling down statues, defacing war memorials. They are totally corrupted by their own selfishness and self importance.

If I substituted different behaviors in the second-to-last sentence, I would be describing the alt-right.

What ate our society was the American version of libertarianism. When so many are convinced beyond a doubt that their version of morality is correct, and we don't talk about how to build something we all can at least live with in spite of those differences, we end up where we are now.

Yeah nah, the problematic parts of wokeism are much more aligned with traditional Marxism than anything classically liberal.

To be woke is just to be alert to racial prejudice and discrimination, if you put aside the problematic parts of wokeism for a moment, do you think there's anything wrong with being woke?
