Just on that clip of Matt Le Tiss there, and linked into the long standing question of asking people to define ‘Woke’.

It’s a proper breakdown of language and communication that we’re suffering from.

I know what the word ‘Woke’ means, as per the dictionary, but when Le Tiss said ”The woke Mr Southgate”, and the audience start clapping, I just don’t know what they’re clapping at, or what’s being communicated.

It’s not the dictionary definition that‘s being communicated, so there’s other concepts hidden in there, which are clearly getting implied but not said, but I‘m not sure a majority would be able to agree on what they are.

Mind-boggling, that I’m watching the conversation, understanding all the words, but the idea and content isn’t translating.

"woke" became a thing when black people were calling out brutality in the US. It is stll as relevant. It has been hijacked by bigots,trumipsts, MAGA and any type of wanky right leaning, minority hating worm you can think of

Unfortunately it's an update, this is difficult to do without examples so I'll step carefully, once upon a time to disparage homosexuals was very common, slowly over time obvious bigoted views became less popular so the hacks and knobheads of their day had to dress their views up in a more veiled way, and so ''fairies'' was introduced to convey the exact same attitude but in a more acceptable way. The current malaise in society appears to be the 'i'm all right jacks' who are happy with the status quo as someone else is the victim of their and their enablers attitudes and actions - they see those protesting against this status quo as an affront to their entitlement and so behave towards said protesters as their immediate enemies. "I'm not giving up my car to save some far away island, I'm not having an asylum camp on the edge of my village, I'm not paying for more Dr's and nurses for all these claimants on boats turning up on the south coast etc" I want whats mine and for you not to have! and so the bloody woke-liberal-do-gooder-tree-hugger-foreigner-lover bogey-person was invented as a catch all term to shout down, undermine, dispute and ignore. Once it has a label it can be filed away as nonsense and its back to business as usual.
Like with most things, it boils down to greed.

There is SO much to unpack in this clip.
Le Tissier saying the word “Woke” followed by cheers from the type of crowd who clap when a plane lands, then Farage turning into prime Kenneth Williams has absolutely ended me here lol

The most telling part of this is the way Farage looks at the camera all the time, its like he is trying to get a reaction from unwoken sheeple

Reckon it about accurate … question is the woke see themselves as mainstream liberal just looking out for everyone but the centrists and conservatives are seeing woke as extreme left telling them how bigoted they are every step they take and acting superior along the way, while being borderline insane with some of the nonsense they come out with. Which is right? How you view yourself or how others view you?
