Australia has gone through the same thing.The amount of enemies they like to cite grows year on year.
Labour, renegade tories, the EU, the ultra-woke civil service, the left wing media, the unions, doctors, nurses, postmen, trans activists, just stop oil, judges, activist lawyers….that’s just off the top of my head.
It’s a calculated propaganda, designed to get a certain demographic angry, as anger is a motivating emotion, intended to motivate that demographic to vote.
That’s it. That’s the culture war. Nothing more than a lever to pull to galvanise their base.
It was Stop the boats in the late 90s (I see the UK PM has now adopted that one), then it was being overrun by Asians, then overrun by Muslims, more recently it is the Woke agenda.
We are currently preparing for a referendum on whether to include an indiginous voice to parliament, whereby govt will be required to consult with aboriginal groups on matters which directly affect aboriginal people. Of course our right wing leader of the opposition is dead against this and is back to telling everyone that aboriginal people are the bogeyman again.
For some reason, there always has to be some group to hate.
