The amount of enemies they like to cite grows year on year.

Labour, renegade tories, the EU, the ultra-woke civil service, the left wing media, the unions, doctors, nurses, postmen, trans activists, just stop oil, judges, activist lawyers….that’s just off the top of my head.

It’s a calculated propaganda, designed to get a certain demographic angry, as anger is a motivating emotion, intended to motivate that demographic to vote.

That’s it. That’s the culture war. Nothing more than a lever to pull to galvanise their base.
Australia has gone through the same thing.

It was Stop the boats in the late 90s (I see the UK PM has now adopted that one), then it was being overrun by Asians, then overrun by Muslims, more recently it is the Woke agenda.

We are currently preparing for a referendum on whether to include an indiginous voice to parliament, whereby govt will be required to consult with aboriginal groups on matters which directly affect aboriginal people. Of course our right wing leader of the opposition is dead against this and is back to telling everyone that aboriginal people are the bogeyman again.

For some reason, there always has to be some group to hate.

Amusing that you seem to use the same currency you accuse others of using dishonestly. Even more amusing if the referendum happens and it passes. Imagine giving one group a veto over state policy and decisions and then calling yourself a democracy. That's apartheid: "a policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race."

I disagree - they've not "convinced themselves" of anything, this is a deliberate push by them to divide the country against itself.

One of the very few things people in the UK agree on (and this applies to the US as well) is that the country is in a mess, and has been for some time. The natural conclusion that anyone, left or right, would draw is that the people who run the country are responsible for it being in a mess. The logical remedy is that those people are removed from running the country, and better people are selected instead who can put things right.

Therefore the people who run the country have to do something to prevent themselves losing their power and status, and so we've seen vast sums plowed into creating the mechanisms by which the population can be divided - entire new TV networks, empowerment of the traditional media to the point of sanctioning open criminality (if they are on the right side), the creation of social media and its legal protection and so on. Once established, those mechanisms then churn out all of the nonsense we've seen for the past twenty years.

No-one should be surprised if people like loaf, or pete, or joey, or anyone of the people we all know IRL who lap this sort of crap up believe it - its been very expensively, very precisely tailored to make them like it. The problem the people who run the country have is that they are up against reality, and sooner or later those people are going to realise precisely how much they have been taken for utter fools.
I'm trying to divide people? I am always amazed how people can read as much as I've written and be none the wiser what my motives are. I am uniting people against those that are actually trying to divide and damage our social fabric and way of life, which is far more precarious than at any point since ww2. The more they succeed in damaging it, the weaker every man, woman and child will be. They would never have been allowed to lock us down in the 60s, 70s or 80s or even the 90s. Now it happens without even a whimper. Traditions, norms and principles matter. They are our defence against tyranny. If you don't defend them they will be eroded away until they are lost completely.

Pretty sure i don't see any concentration camps these days.

If you actually bothered to read my post you would have found that I did not say you were trying to divide people, just that you were one of the people who appear to lap up what they are offering even though its palpable nonsense.

For example, if you had a serious communicable disease in the 60s or 70s they could have locked you up if you refused to be treated. They actually wrote the modern version of that legislation in 1984 which codified and modernised their powers to do that. Yet you think they'd never have done that in those times, when you know they used to detain people with mental health problems for years and years in dedicated facilities.

You're an unimportant non-entity so you are not divisive and your motives aren't relevant. I think Tsubaki was trying to say you're one of the useful idiots that the people who are actually trying to divide us thrive off.

They definitely do exist. The authoritarians are just good at couching their totalitarianism in nice, fluffy (leftist), egalitarian terms. Take for example this state policy from Australia (during Covid) I just found to illustrate the point, but their were equivalents in many countries. They call it a 'well camp', but it may as well have been an internment camp to lock up 'unvaccinated' travellers required to walk around in hazmat suits, with masks on for the entire duration of the time held there. We did similar in hotels in the UK making people pay thousands of pounds for the privilege of their own imprisonment. Never mind actually locking people on wards so that their grieving families didn't get a chance to say good bye.

Either that or your news sources aren't varied enough. If you think evil deeds are only described with right wing terms and concepts - you will have missed most of them...

Be fair, that one group had all their land stolen, their society destroyed and their rights stripped from them for about 250 years.

Yes, the power to do it is necessary because of biological warfare and the possibility of spreading potentially deadly, unknown and infectious diseases. What doesn't make sense is to lock people up with the flu.

This is something else!
You openly favour the most divisive man in living memory (despite his sexist, racist behaviour), yet cry about some gran protesting about coal fired power stations.

You cannot see how we all find this hilarious?! You are totally deluded. You’ve been sucked in by the whoppers on the right telling you who to hate

Your poor family

I dont think you can compare that "Wellcamp" example with the systematic and industrial slaughter of the actual concentration camps.
