Think it's more to do with her strong feminist views and perceived 'arrogance' in general rather than her looks. Whole slew of neckbeards with their knickers in a twist over a couple comments she made prior to Captain Marvel coming out and they've been on her case ever since. They hate the idea that's she's going to be one of the main Avengers in phase 4 and beyond.
