Hunterlaar is also 29 and we could probably get him for 5m.
JUST SAYIN
That'd be a cracking deal actually

He destroyed Heitinga, lets face it, he was probably the worst player in the League last Season.

We dont want goalscorers, why do you think we persevered with Jelavic? It's not in "our DNA"
Yeah, look at Seamus ColemanCan someone please tell me when anything less that £25M wasnt a gamble on any player? Yes the more you pay the more likely you are they will succeed. But ask Man U how good Veron was. Arsenal paid 250k for fabregas, theres no rules and speunking ****loads of cash doesnt guarantee anyone a quality player.
Transfers are a risk to any club at any price.
Klaas by name, class by nature.
DER HUNTER
Nor sure he was mate.
CL he'd want plus massive wages.
Sadly not in our orbit.
Trying to stay positive but if we get rid of Fellani and bring in crappy wigan players there is NO way we are finishing above 10th. Not one single player we have been linked to this window is good enough for EFC if we want to move forward and not back.
Mirallas was around £6M, and Oviedo was around £5M. But I get your point.
Equally though, all of them were signed prior to the influx of money that's about to come into the game. Hence why I said that £10M isn't what it used to be.
Were paying virtually 10 mil for 2 players who won't get in the first 11, I would rather buy one player who would get in the first 11 and the player he replaces then becomes squad player. It's the only way we will improve. It reminds me of Rodgers buying Borini and Allen for Liverpool the only difference was they got another 20 mil in January to rectify that mistake, we won't be able too. If we want squad players we could get Redmond and Cornelius for far cheaper and would also be able to sell them if they were no good.First 11 quality is going to cost a lot of money as our first 11, lets be honest is a very good one. We've moaned all season about how we have virtually no squad, Martinez is addressing that problem with 3 decent signings, and this is all without a player sale. When we sell Fellaini and Heitinga then the first 11 quality will be getting bought.
If we bought BIG first then Kone, Alcaraz and McGeady second, i dont think a lot of people would be complaining.
At first i was thinking I didn't want Kone but after some of Jelavics performances last season, I'm not so against the idea. At the end of the day though, I don't see the point.
I'd be fine with Alcaraz as back up so long as he was behind Duffy in the queue. If Heitinga splits, we'd only have 3 CB's so it would be a reasonable purchase. I can't see Lescott coming back to be honest
LCAB tweeted Kone, Alcaraz & McGeady deals nearly done. Should be announced Monday.
