So just because we've appointed Wigan's manager, James McCarthy has become flavour of the month on here(apart from those who talk sense about football). Old peg leg will probably want £10million + for him... seriously, if Martinez can't find a better CM than that for that sort of money we're in trouble.

Good engine on him though. Scott Parker's replacement at Spurs *they* reckon.

We entered advanced talks with Bony last Summer, but pulled out for some strange reason.

I doubt we will go back in for him, im not aware of the reason for us pulling out though.

Moyes was offered him and it looked set to be done, it was 80% done and moyes just didn't want to invest the money it wouldve cost us (around 8-9m) on him.

I find it very hard to believe Moyes had £9m to spend - given he has had to sell to buy for pretty much his entire time here.

I think he might of been worried about his life style, or if he could play how everton wanted to. 8m is a lot of money for us so i can see the concern, but bony does look like a fantastic player.

Leroy Fer, Keisuke Honda/Jonathan De Guzman and Nacer Chadli, plus blowing our original transferbudget Wilfred Bony. Even more happier with that.

We should do this if Fellaini wants to leave.

it was 8m for fer mate. We changed our target from bony to fer, and ended up getting neither.

Wasn't there a loan with a view to giving it back with the new tv money behind the scenes? I thought that was the case in jan.

I'd love if he picked a gem out from somewhere in europe, one of them players that proves that he has a wide knowledge of players in other leagues. You would have to think he knows La Liga fairly well and that there might be one or two players there that he could now go for, whereas he wouldn't have been able to previously given Wigan's wage budget.
