The start to the season

We've done ok, I've been impressed with how we have taken the game to the likes of Arsenal and Cheslea. Both results were disappointing for different reasons but we were competitive against the both of them. I think we've got the potential to cement our place at the business end of the table. Top 4 is a big ask but it will be fun trying.

we haven't played that badly at all this season, we've just defended terribly. teams haven't really caused us a mountain of problems, we've just conceded virtually every chance they've had.

we've looked like we can score many goals this season though, all coming from a range of players.

Not a disaster by any means, and plenty of good things happening on the pitch and players to be excited about, but overall we've not been near our best in any of the games so far, and we need to step things up quick because we have some big games coming up.

Haven't watched today's match....did we play any good stuff?
one great flowing passage of play, bit like the Courtois save off Mirallas vs Chelsea. Bits in pieces really, we played better in all the other games for mine but didn't have the same levels of defensive effort.

I only saw the 2nd half but there wasn't much wrong with our play in that.

I would still like us to show more ability to pass through teams that press us rather than go back to Howard but even when that happens it normally sets up a good counter if we can win the first ball.

All in all I can't decide whether our performances in pre season/ first 3 games have made people overly negative but it was a good win.

I'm really happy with Rom too, not just because he got the goal but he is really improving his general all round play and if he keeps it up we could really have a top class striker on our hands.

Th big thing is that our fitness now looks back to normal. I honestly think we would be sitting on 10 points with a better preseason.

sorry but its still a bad start, particularly when you drop points you shouldn't have because you're not match fit....

its obviously not a disaster after yesterdays 3 points....but right now we should have 4 points more than we do (and Arsenal should have 1 less)....thats a 5 point swing with us & the team we will be competing with for top 4, we saw last season how vital points can be come may....that 5 point swing could prove costly...
