Player Valuation: £10m
I've just watched some youtube videos about football in the eighties, season 84-85...that magic season.

Southall
Stevens
Vanden Hauwe
Mountfield
Ratcliffe
Reid
Steven
Bracewell
Sharp
Gray
Sheedy

Looking at our current side, I'd say that not many players would be elegible in the eighties.

When we discuss how further back are we from the top 4, I think that looking at the gap between our present squad and the winning squad of those days we find the answer.

Man Utd or Chelsea have players to rival our all time greatest team.

But not us. Probably Lescott or Yakubu would fight for a place. But the rest, well I wish we could bring that silky midfield to play nowadays.

some say he used to dye his hair you know(y)

Agreed. Yakubu, Arteta and Lescott would be the only ones capable of challenging.

I think Lescott would get in to be honest. Especially if he continues his amazing form. Yakubu would have a good chance but I'd like to se more of him before I make my judgement. Arteta would probably be on the bench.

The rest not a chance. Potentially maybe Baines, Fernandes and Vaughan but we'll have to see how they develop. I seriously doubt it to be honest.

Remember when?

I was 18 when that team were together. I remember walking down Muriel Street passing the school as I walked home from the game. Some of my favourite memories of all time.

Ahhhh S*!t, now I'm depressed.
