He's only played one full game like

But if he wants to stay, I'd take him.

1 game, 1 clean sheet hes by far our best defender!

As the Brown man said earlier on we need defenders who dont waste the ball, some of his distribution against Wigan was really good, youd swear he coached by Wenger or something.

I would play Senderos ahead of Distin any day of the week, he's another one who doesn't panic and can pick a pass.

Also following what Dublintoff said about Arteta, the beautiful thing about Mikel is that as you say, he knows when to do what. The biggest thing for me in that regard is that he knows when to hold onto the ball as much as pass it. I said this to a Liverpool fan watching the United game, if you look at most midfielders, they try to pass it within 5 seconds whether a pass is on or not. With the Spanish players, particularly the Barca and Madrid schooled ones, they don't rush things if there's nothing on, they turn and twist until an option presents itself. You're right there are few players in world football that can do this under pressure to any kind of high level. Incidentally, if you watch Alex Song, who used to be pretty terrible on the ball, Wenger has managed to COACH this trait into him, in what, 4 years? And he's now very, very good at it. Pretty incredible.

The only problem I have is that he's proper slow. I mean really slow.

Dustbin and Yobo do have a good pace to them for a defender.

But saying that. Jags aint no slouch so Jags/Senderos partnership would work

Distins getting the nod because hes naturally left sided mate - ithink Moyesy wants Jags on the right untill he gets his sharpness back. I dont think the pace is as much as an issue as it was earlier in the season because Jonny is sitting deeper hence a deeper line and we're not getting caught on the break as much. He took a few cracking free kicks against Wigan to.

Last i heard he was injured no? I would defo have him in against Stoke anyway!

I hope we get him.

I'd be surprised if Moyes didnt go for him. After all, he was after him for £4mill at the start of the season...till that £4mill turned into a £6mill...and now he could get him for free.

Howard
Heitinga Jagielka Senderos Baines
Fellaini
Pienaar Arteta Bily
Cahill
Yakubu.

Not a bad side but lacks pace(y)

The Heit at right full?

Id have Pienaar on the left in front of Baines as well.

Well, that's where Heit played all season for Athletico, and a large chunk of his international games are a right back. And he's better than Neville and Hibbo at....well, everything. I also think he was brought in for right back and defensive mid...a replacement for Neville in that utility role.

He should hold a place in the 1st team next season either way cos he's boss.

Oh and Bily and Pienaar can swap whenever.

What about the mustard!

Dont think Moyes thinks he's ready. Will probably be out on loan all of next season because he'll be able to let him go due to the squad depth.

All goes well (in terms of players staying and no mass Lescott-esque crisis) I think Coleman, Baxter, Vaughan, maybe Golsing will go out on loan.

Anichebe could do, but I think Moyes rates him highly.

No. Just never rated him. Plus the fact he can hardly run.

I think he's got it in his locker....but yeah, he cant run. And he's free. Can think of worst defenders who cost upwards of £10million.
