The Sammy Lee Opinion Thread

It interesting how the management dynamic works out. Shakespeare sits high in the stand with a direct line into Sam's ear, pointing out stuff he can see formation wise and positionally. He'll be able to spot over loads and opposition tactics much easier from up there. Sam just sits there as the Brain, deciding what needs to be done in a relatively detached way so he's not swept into making rash changes, keeping a clear head and not being rattled by the opposition. And Little Sammy is the mouthpiece, communicating with the players, noising up the officials and generally getting in peoples faces to wind them up. It will also protect Sam from being sent to the stand at times, ensuring the Manager is always in place. It will all have been thought through like that, such is their level of preparation and experience.

On paper sounds like Sam's put together a good team.

It's going to be hard to get used to Sammy Lee in blue though.

2018-19 season.

We'll win the league.

And little Sammy Lee - in his little blue trackie - will be passed on a sea of hands from the Street End all the way across the park to their dirty, filthy yard whereupon he'll be momentarily set down to do a big piss outside the KOP before being again lofted head-high and returned via procession to GP, his now spiritual home...

...just in time for both the trophy presentation and the last bits of chicken from the Family Bucket that Sam & Craig shot down County Road for at the final whistle.

Vault me.

Hee hee good one, is it me or does Sammy look like a Japanese sniper emerging after years being lost in the jungle.

Even before the win, I can't say I'm massively bothered about Sammy Lee the coach. I'd have loved Benitez as manager so it would be hypocritical of me to turn my nose up at Lee.

He's a very good coach, particularly at getting sides hard to beat and being able to press the ball.I suspect he would have been an important missing ingredient between Everton and Southampton for Koeman.

Howard Kendall was more than happy to look at lads who had been involved with Liverpool. He wanted to sign Ian Rush, brought in lads like Sheedy, Harper etc. If it's good enough for Howard it's good enough for me.

What I likely think he saw was a winning mentality with people associated with Liverpool FC in that time period. Hardened individuals who were played to win. He will bring those standards to Everton, of that I have little doubt.

The management team has a nice balance to it, with Shakespeare's experience at Leicester, Fergusan who knows Everton and Lee.

Sammy Lee was one of the highlights on MOTD... :) I had to watch him falling into the dugout straight after DCL scored, again and again... brought almost as many smiles as the goal... :D

I honestly feel like some Blues forget some of the signings that were made across the city when discussing the Sammy Lee issue. Beardsley and Sheedy would have been vilified by half the people on here if forums existed during that period.

This is it mate. If they are the right player I'd take them. I'd be delighted if we could sign any of Mane, Salah, Firmino or Countinho currently!
